you really shouldn't walk a puppy of any kind that long because it's bones aren't fully developed. You should walk a puppy for atleast 20 minutes.

You shouldn't walk your puppy until it's had it's 3rd injection at 4 months old. Then when the vet says it's ok, you can take him out for walks two or three times a day. Always have water on hand, just in case. Bring some treats along, too. Keep the walks 10- 15 mins when first starting out, then you can extend then to 30 mins at about 8 months, then up to an hour *after* your puppy is one year old. Most people who take their dogs out for an hour walk before the puppy is old enough, they will get tiredand have to stop. If tha does happen when walking, give the dog some water.

I put a Garmin 201 GPS on my 1 year old Collies harness and recorded peaks of 24.7 knots - just over 28 miles per hour. A fully grown dog 18 months + and slightly larger would be capable of 30 - 35mph in short bursts. My Border Collie, and yes he is pure bred, weighed in at a svelte 95 pounds when I last took him to the vet. He was 4 at the time and in very athletic and toned condition. He has since slowed down at bit but his appetite has not waned. He now weighs 100 pounds, but has lost very little of the inherent quickness that the breed is known for. He is 7 and very healthy.

Start at a young age when they are able to walk and see.You can use a goose or a baby lamb and maybe even a cat so they can herd and get them use to seeing their parents doing the job or not introduce them to sheep and not to be afraid.

Huskies are friendly dogs that get along well with other dogs. i recommend raising your dogs together from pups. but if your looking to add to the family, then a husky should have no problem with the Maltese. but like any other dog they have to get uset to each other. (may take a week or longer)
