Is it safe to eat London broil and pork chops that were frozen out all night on the counter?

They could be fine if cooked at a high enough temperature, but it is safer to throw out any meat that's been left out for an extended period of time. Like your mom always says "if in doubt throw it out."

How do you roast a chicken in a dutch oven?

Usually the chicken is braised in a dutch oven, which is a type of pot and roasted in a regular or convection oven. If you wish to use the dutch oven, heat couple tablespoons of oil in the pot, brown the chicken and some onions, maybe some garlic, carrots, potatoes. Season to taste. Add a cup of chicken stock, cover the pot and cook for about an hour or until the chicken is done. This is sometimes called pot roast chicken.

How long to cook a 3 lb pork shoulder roast in the oven?

I cook meats 20 - 30 minutes per pound at 350F(190C).

so a 3 pound shoulder I would cook 1 to 1 1/2 hours in a roasting pan with a bit of water. The fat under the skin should be mostly melted away when it is done.

How long do you roast a 1.5 kg belly of pork for?

3.5kg = 7.7lb Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F) and use these cooking times to prepare a roast that's moist, tender and delicious.Your roast should be covered with foil for the first half of the roasting time. 7 to 9lb Joint 2½ to 3 hours Tips for a better roast. For extra flavour you can add optional vegetables such as carrots, parsnips, onions and celery to your roasting pan, and roast the meat 'on a bed' of veg. The veg also helps to keep the roast off the bottom of the roasting pan so it doesn't 'stew' in its own juices.

How long should you broil salmon?

== == One approach is that you don't bake it, you grill it -- it keeps its delicious taste that way.

On the other hand, it's very simple to bake a salmon. For a fillet, all you do is spray it with oil oil/cooking spray and then add a little accent flavor like: * chopped herbs * salsa * Asian flavors: soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds * salt, pepper or basic spice mix * cajun spice -- red pepper flakes, chili powder, black pepper, lime juice

* Indian - curry and paprika.

* chives, lemon juice and a little white * honey and mustard

Then place it in a baking pan and put it in the oven at 350 for about 25 minutes. You can cover it with tin foil to keep it a little moister, but it happens to be be very good when it's a little more "chunky" and drier.

Tip: don't spray the pan; the skin will stick to it, making it much easier to take the salmon off without the skin. Soak it afterwards and it'll come right off.

My husband makes a wonderful juicy salmon baked in the oven. First he lines a baking dish with tin foil and sprays it with cooking spray. Then places the salmon on the sprayed foil and lightly sprays the salmon. Then he sprinkles dill weed and a few choice spices, like Mrs Dash or Cajuns Choice-sprinkly lightly. Next he tops the salmon with lemon slices and squeezed juice from remaining lemon ends. Cover with foil and bake at 350 for about 45-60 minutes. Start checking at 45 minutes, so that the salmon doesn't over cook and keeps juices in! Dill and lemon are popular ingredients for baked salmon. They don't over take the salmon flavor, they enhance it! Enjoy!

How long do you cook 1.7lbs pork roast in oven at 350?

What is a pork roast recipe for a slow cooker?

Put a pork roast, 3 medium carrots peeled and cut into chunks, 1 onion quartered, 3 celery stalks rinsed and cut into crock pot with 1 cup water, salt pepper to taste. Cook on low and slow for about 6-8 hours. If you want variations you can add 2 cans ginger ale and a shot or two of port wine. You can also change it up by adding canned tomatoes instead of the ginger ale and wine.

What is the temperature to broil?

Broil means to cook with radiant heat from above. Most ovens are preset to broil at 500 degrees. So i would just keep a very good eye on the chicken as to make sure it doesnt burn. In fact you could also cut the chicken into smaller pieces so that you dont cook the outside and leave the inside raw.

How do you roast a pig?

This is the way I do it, but there are several ways:

First, figure how many people will be eating and is a roasted pig the main item you are serving. Go to a butcher at least 1 wk before your party (a large frozen pig takes 4 days to defrost, a good butcher will do this for you) The average size pig I have roasted is about 90 lbs (not including the pig's head) Find a good recipe for a "brine/baste" that you like (sweet, soar, salty whatever) you will need at least two gallons of baste liquid. Now either rent or build a pig roaster; I've done both. Now line up enough people to help, I have cooked a large pig for 20 hours, so you need some help. Make sure you have enough stainless wire to secure portions of the pig (this is if you are using a rotisserie) as the pig will want to shift if not secured. For a large pig you will need about 40-60 lbs of charcoal. Get at least two meat thermometers (I like the instant mechanical non electronic models.) Get a garden hose ready with a spray nozzle and already hooked up (at some time your pig will flare up, and you should be prepared) the sprayed water will not hurt the cooking pig. Start your pig closer to the fire and within 20 minutes of rotating, back the pig to a lower temperature area. You will find out very soon how much fat is in a pig and also which parts of the pig needs less heat. Contrary to your first guess you will need more heat on the front and hind quarters than in the center. As the pig cooks, baste as necessary to insure the pig does not dry out excessively. Test many areas as the pig cooks and assure even cooking; remember that the heat travels throughout the pig differently. cook until the temperature has reached sufficient temperature for serving, as you carve the pig the brisket should be covered with a baste/BBQ sauce you like and placed in a large oven pan and covered with foil and continue baking at a higher heat in an oven. (Carving a large pig takes me over an hour) Serve with good fresh baked rolls, and some wonderful side dishes of your choice. Then take a nap the next day if you are doing most of the work yourself. :-)

Is broiling a steak on a grill a chemical change?

There are complex chemical reactions that occur when a high enough heat meets the proteins in the steak. Hence, the browning; it's called Malliard's reaction, or something similar.

How do you roast almond flakes?

There are two ways. You can toast them in a dry skillet on the stove or on a cooking sheet in the oven. For the stove top use medium heat and in the oven use 350 F. In both cases spread the nuts in a single layer and stir them every few minutes. It takes about 5 - 7 minutes. When you can smell the nuts they are done.

How long do you smoke a 3 pound pork roast?

It's not so much "how long", but "to what temperature". There are too many factors to consider to set a specific time to say "it's done". Factors such as your type of smoker, the type of fuel you are using (charcoal, lump charcoal, wood, etc), the weather outside, how windy it is, how much meat you have and the size of your loins. Each of these factors weighs upon how fast your pork loin (or anything you smoke) will take to come to temperature.

Cooking to temperature also means that you need a good way to check your temps. Most folks that use smokers end up working with a few probe thermometers. These are thermometers that have the temperature probe on a wire so that you can leave it in the meat while it sits in the smoker, and all the electronics sit outside the smoker. That way you don't have to keep opening up the smoker to check the temps with an instant read and letting all the heat out.

So back to how long to smoke a pork loin. For medium, smoke till it is 160, for more well done, 170. And remember that your meat will keep cooking if you foil it when you take it off the smoker.

Lots of folks recommend that you foil the loin at about 140-145 degrees, then pull it from the smoker at 155 or so and place in a warm cooler with towels to let it set up and finish cooking to 160-170. The foil helps the meat to stay moist too. You don't want it going much over 170 or it will be dry.

Enjoy!

What wine goes with pork roast?

There is a red wine from Australia called Angus the matches very well with just about any kind of red meat. A cabernet Savigon is a very nice red with a bit of sweetness to it. If you prefer your wine a bit drier try a merlot. Robert Mondavi is a winery in California that makes very good wine at a reasonble price. The golden rule with wine and food is red with red meat, and white with white meat.
