My 2005 STS has none ....you push in fuel door and it opens

Im going to assume that it is an 05-07 STS since i believe it was introduced in and i don't know bout 08 though i immagine it would be the same. The main Bose amplifier is in the trunk on the driverside framework just behind that grey pannel thing. (its black and silver and says BOSE in big letters, you cant miss it) If you want to get a look at it or something you will have to take off the pannels which is really quite easy, just undo the snaps (you might break a few they are about $3 each in my experience) The Bose amplifier is connected to a complicated wiring harness so i wouldn't count on doing any modding to it. the Bose system also has 5 other amps that i bet you didnt know about... each of the big speakers in the doors has its own built in amp that sits right on it and same goes for the 12 inch sub on the rear shelf. these are connected with a simple 5 wire connector (power+ , power- , signal + , signal- , and remote power). I myself have done a major audio revamp to my STS so if you have any questions i may be able to answer them for you. ask them on this thread and ill check back.

The dash may have to come out. It be better to take it to the dealer or a VERY qualified shop.

Airbag deployment can happen at any speed. It's not about the speed, but rather the impact that the car feels to deploy the bags.

The front are 8in,,the rear are 61/2 and the subwoofer on the rear deck is 12in

You get tools and you take it out or if you dont know how to take them out go to an engineer

More than likely its the ( E.C.M) engine control modular, And has to be programed.

you take a car battery charger and out the negative on the antna and positive to the body and turn it 0n

I just replaced a license plate bulb on my 2003 STS. Remove the two screws that attach the bulb assembly to the rear body panel. Slide the bulb assembly to the left side of the opening and twist it counter clockwise. It will slide through the opening even though it's a tight fit. Replace and then test the new bulb before inserting the bulb assembly back through the tight opening. Line up the bulb assembly with the screw holes and steady it with a small screw driver until you get the screw started. Then tighten the screws and you have completed the task. I've read many answers that say you must remove the entire rear body panel because they can't get the bulb assembly to squeeze through the panel's opening. It will come through, but you might have to work it a little or even maybe a lot, but since you now know it will come through you can keep working with it until it does.

You may have 1 or more injectors that are leaking. Allowing fuel to purge from the lines after you turn off the car. This will leak inti the cylinder and cause a flooded condition.

Yes. The engines are both V8 northstar engines, the one in the SLS is just a different version with less horsepower and more torque.

Fuse box in 1992 STS located in engine compartment front of driver side inside on fender area. Second fuse box is in the trunk located on drivers side on side wall

Some lights have polarity (e.g., LEDs). Cables could be reversed. Of course bulb could be blown. AND of course, if some type of light doesent come on, such as the check engine light, then you have a bad car :)

Changing the Wipers on a 2005 Cadillac STS.

You need to have the exact replacement, probably from the Cadillac dealer.

I bought Rain-X Latitude, and had to modify them to fit, with a small grinder.

Anyhow, to remove them pull the wiper off the windshield, and lay down a towel,

on the windshield, squeeze the two tabs, together, about 3 inches from the end, and pull

them away from the wiper, and continue gently, in a circular motion, and pull off towards

the end of the wiper.You will see now, it is NOT the regular wiper holder.

There is a Shiny pin holding the assembly to the wiper arm,you need to

tap it out, and replace with exact blade, and reverse the above, to re-assemble.

First remove keys from ignition, then remove positive battery cable from the battery(Red cable or marked with a + ), then remove the black or negative cable, remove all brackets that secure battery to holder, remove battery and BE VERY VERY CAREFUL NOT TO SPILL ACID ON YOURSELF!!!!!!! ANY SKIN CONTACT OR CLOTHING CONTACT SHOULD BE FLUSHED WITH WATER IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!), Replace with new battery, reconnect the securement brackets, install black or negative cable, install the red or positive cable. WARNING!!!!!!!...DO NOT LET THE WRENCH CONTACT ANY OTHER METAL ON THE CAR WHILE IT IS BEING USED TO REMOVE THE RED/POSITIVE CABLE.....YOU COULD CAUSE YOURSELF SERIOUS INJURY AND OR BLOW UP THE BATTERY....JUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND USE COMMONSENSE AND CAUTION AND WEAR A PAIR OF SAFETY GLASSES AND GLOVES AND DO NOT HOLD THE BATTERY AGAINST YOURSELF WHILE YOU ARE CARRYING IT. THE BATTERY IS FULL OF SULPHURIC ACID!!!!!)

What year on my 2000 after removing all the nuts that hold the lights on the trunk. I couldn't remove the assembly with the trunk open. I fought this several times with no luck. So as a last resort I closed the trunk and the assembly came out. The book showed it coming out with trunk open.
