What is the difference between a cracked block and a blown head gasket?
A cracked block means that the engine itself is cracked. A blown head-gasket means that the gasket between the engine and the head has blown. Either can be caused by overheating the engine. When an engine overheats the head can warp causing the head-gasket to give out. In some engines the heat cracks the block. If the block is cracked, it's over. If the head-gasket is blown you can always machine the head surface and put it all back together.

Where is the fuel pump relay on 1992 Seville?
It's in the bank of 6 micro relays right above the front driver's side wheel well engine compartment. Remove the two plastic split fasteners, remove the strut tower end on the tubular brace, turn it towards the engine out of the way and slide the plastic cowl up and off. The relays are under a black cover closest to the fender. The fuel pump relay will be the one at the upper right. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem on my 94 Eldo.The ignition was changed, same problem.After a small fire in the trunk!!!! it turned out that the pulling motor of the lid was the real problem.Some cables must have been faulty causing the alarm system to think somebody was tampering with the trunk and ocasionally shut off.I´d have a closer look at the wiring back there.Good luck!

Behind the air filter box (between the air filter box and the firewall) and under the big black elbow that directs air into the engine is a small twist off cap and dip stick. This is the top of your transmission. Be careful when removing the cap and dip stick. It only takes like a 1/4 turn and then the cap shoul be able to lift straight out. The contents are not under pressure and it should be checked while the engine is idling and warm.
