right where the dipstick comes out of, usually in a hard to reach spot between the engine block and air filter housing. use a long, narrow funnel for ease.

To reset the security system for a 1994 Cadillac, first turn off everything including the radio. Place key in the ignition, half turned on, and wait for 20 minutes. This will automatically reset the security system.

means your about to have transmission problems. it will kick you tranny into limp mode after awhile. check all electrical pulgs going into tranny. check for corrsion and bad conections. hopfully its a s easy as that. but maybe tranny going bad.

A solid mount has no play where as a hydraulic is flexible so you do not feel the torque of the motor(what you would want for daily driver in my opinion).

under black plastic shroud in front of strut housing on driver's side. There is a tab at the bottom, in the front, that needs to be released from a slot on the base. Push the tab in and pull up on the shroud.

I don't know if they are the same but on a 96 STS there is a Maxi-fuse that keeps the 2 fans in the front running. I would check that fuse first and there may also be a fan relay. You can pick up a chilton book at an auto parts store that would probably help a lot.

On my '76 it's easy; the low side port is the one by the evaporator, NOT the one in line. If you have a different year, here's how to find it on any car. AC works by compressing a gas, which makes it hot. Then this compressed gas gets cooled at the radiator, down to about outside air temperature. This cool and compressed gas then goes to the coil inside the car where the pressure is released and the gas gets cold. Then the gas gets sucked back from inside the car to the compressor and so on. So the low pressure line is always the line going from inside the car to the compressor, the high pressure line is the line going from the radiator to the inside of the car.

Set the set to the desired position, also side mirrors & seat belt/headrest, then press memory button. Press driver 1 button (or driver 2, if it's for second driver)

Access the Fog Lamp from the top. Remove the cover between grill area and the radiator by using needle nose priers and prying up plastic clips (can be reused). Once cover is removed, you can see the back of the lamp covered by a rubber boot held on by a zip tie. Cut the zip tie and pull the rubber boot back to expose the lamp. Unclip the lamp out from the plastic and disconnect wire and replace lamp. You can use a little wd-40 to get the rubber boot to slide back on and you will need a new zip tie.

you need to remove the intake assembly bolts and lift it up so you can access the bolts for the starter( it sits in the gulley between the heads)

before doing anything remove the negative cable from the battery.

If your STS is like mine, the battery is under the rear seat. You can pull up on the rear seat and expose the battery, at which point, you can attach jumper cables.

Don't do that.There is a plus(+) terminal under the hood.Just hook up the jumper cable to this terminal and minus(-) to the metal part(ground) and you are all set.

I have a '98 STS with the Northstar and was recently on Cadillacforums.com and the same question was asked about the northstar and alternator. From what I remember, You have to take the right radiator fan out, take passenger side tire off, I think remove the black plastic (might be in the way) and you should be able to get at it from there. word of caution though, watch you dont bash the radiator in when you turn it to get it out.

In order to get codes for a 1994 Cadillac STS through climate control, a diagnostic test must be run by a mechanic. Most alternative tests or guide books will not provide this information. A Cadillac dealer is the best option to obtain this code.

Any store that sells the machine that you brew your coffee with should stock them. Try your local Target or Walmart to start with so that you can keep on drinking.

My 2005 STS has none ....you push in fuel door and it opens

Im going to assume that it is an 05-07 STS since i believe it was introduced in and i don't know bout 08 though i immagine it would be the same. The main Bose amplifier is in the trunk on the driverside framework just behind that grey pannel thing. (its black and silver and says BOSE in big letters, you cant miss it) If you want to get a look at it or something you will have to take off the pannels which is really quite easy, just undo the snaps (you might break a few they are about $3 each in my experience) The Bose amplifier is connected to a complicated wiring harness so i wouldn't count on doing any modding to it. the Bose system also has 5 other amps that i bet you didnt know about... each of the big speakers in the doors has its own built in amp that sits right on it and same goes for the 12 inch sub on the rear shelf. these are connected with a simple 5 wire connector (power+ , power- , signal + , signal- , and remote power). I myself have done a major audio revamp to my STS so if you have any questions i may be able to answer them for you. ask them on this thread and ill check back.
