How old does female zebra finch have to be for mating?
Female zebra finches reach sexual maturity at just 12 weeks. However, to keep your birds healthy after breeding, it is advised by vets and bird experts that your zebra finch should be at least 6 months old before attempting to allow them to mate.
Yes you just have to give it time to rest, and it will become better soon. :)
What animals live in Aviaries?
In aviaries you can put a wide variety of birds. My personal aviary holds 5 parakeets, 2 bald eagles, 6 cockatoos, 10 Canadian geese, 35 pigeons, 4 bluejays, a flock of seagulls, and a family of pterodactyls.
Can Zebra Finches eat strawberries?
You can feed strawberries to your zebra finches if you like, but they are not a favourite to the birds. Most zebra finches will either completely ignore strawberries, or try once and never touch them again or they will peck the seeds off and leave the fruit behind.
Make sure any fruit you give your birds are organic. Fruit crops have the highest concentrations of pesticides out of all of humanity's agricultural produce, which can cause illness in birds. So please make sure the fruit you feed them is either organic or grown in your own chemical-free garden.
Is tweaty bird male or female?
I always assumed Tweety was male. I never saw any stereotypically female behaviors or affectations on the cartoons. In particular, Tweety is a canary, and usually only male canaries are good singers.

How do you care for an abandoned Cedar Waxwing fledgling?
I have a female in my tree she sleeps there and eats there, I do not see her parents at all I have been getting frozen mice from the pet store and warming them up NOT IN MICROWAVE but, in water, she eats from my hand, this is still a wild bird so I do limited intraction with her. I feel very lucky to have this moment in my life, I have been told that she will fly when she is ready.
Yes they love fish and some feed manufacturers use it as the main source of protein in laying mash. Problem is the taste of the fish can transfer to the eggs if they get too much of it. Same thing happens if they get too much crushed oyster shells or cheap grit. Some folks don't mind the taste in their eggs but personally if I want fish in the morning with my breakfast I will have fish not eggs that taste of it. So go ahead and feed them some fish but don't overdo it.
Do bird tail feather grow back when lost?
Yes, they'll grow back next time the turkey molts (sometime during Fall).
This depends on what sort of breed it is as most parrots are different sizes.
The largest parrot is the Hycanith Macaw which is around 39-42 inches long when it's fully grown.
The smallest parrot probably is the buff-faced pygmy parrot which is 8-10 cm long when it's fully grown.
dry fruit is unrecomended. fresh fuit has all the nutrients so its a better choice.
Can you teach your zebra finch to talk?
Zebra Finches can't talk, but one of my Pied Zebra Finches make a call that imitates the sound of an alarm. My Zebra Finches do answer me, though. When I walk in the door and say "Hi" to them, they chirp back. Zebra Finches can make beautiful calls, so without tricks, these cute little birds put on a show...with their singing!
Thanks,
Grace's Finch Care
When do you feed a wild baby bird?
If you find a baby bird that appears to need feeding, the best thing to do is not to feed it, but to get it to an appropriate bird rescue organization. In many cases, the begging birds are not abandoned and the parent birds are nearby and tending to their babies as needed, even if they aren't seen.
Your male bird keeps pecking at the female bird why?
it is not pecking it it is cleaning it or it needs to get used to the other bird
A parrots cousin is still another parrot. This is because the parrots mother or father's brother or sister had a baby parrot.
How old does a parakeet have to be to get its wings cliped?
As soon as the wings are feathered and they are trying to fly. It's just dead feather so it really doesn't matter.
Can a red-tail hawk be a pet to humans?
No, unless you have a license. Hawks are an endangered species. They are a protected animal and you can only own a hawk with proper training and license. They must be fed, trained and handled properly. They are very difficult birds to deal with. They can die if not cared for properly and are potentially dangerous to you if you don't know how to handle them. They also need lots of wild space to fly.
I suggest you don't buy one, unless you're a challenge lover with license and lots of training.
Can you travel with a zebra finch in a long car ride?
Budgies can travel, if there is a purpose (such as holidays, and no alternative for them to stay with anyone back home). They travel best in a cool (not cold) environment, as they can get overheated easily in a confined space. Initially, have a light cloth or towel over the top of the cage, but after awhile, remove the towel so the budgie can see out the window. Make sure the budgie is not in any direct sunlight, and empty the water and seed dishes to a minimum, but not completely empty.
