How do you find a lost baby turtle in your home?
I don't know how long ago you asked this question, but hopefully you've found your turtle since then! Be sure to look in all nooks and crannys - and under furniture, even if you think the spaces aren't big enough for your turtle to fit. They like dark, and will head for the shadows. I've found mine in the back of closets, and behind large wall units. Sometimes quite a chore to get them out! Good Luck!

What to feed your baby pet turtle?
It depends on what type of turtle it is. At young ages though most turtles are mainly carnivorous, so turtle food brands like Wardleys or ReptoMin are often suggested. Remember though when feeding that large amounts of protein causes shell deformation and internal organ stress (and in severe cases failure). A good guide to avoiding this problem is only feeding the turtle how much would fit inside the head if it was hollow once daily until around 6 months of age, and then every other day after that.
A good site to tell you the individual turtle species needs and care requirements is Austins Turtle Page.

How often do you feed your baby red eared turtle?
I have two red-eared sliders, and a yellow-bellied slider. I feed them once a day, everyday. I feed them all at the same time--in the morning. It is usually between 6-7am during the school year, or 9-12am over summer break. I use turtle food bought from Pet Smart. In it is mini sticks (scientist made stuff,) mini shrimp, and baby krill. My turtles eat a lot for their size(1inch in diameter)--about 15-20 pieces.
What happens when a red ear slider is upside down?
He stretches and twists his neck backwards to grab a hold of grass, then uses his amazingly strong neck muscles to flip his body over. He can actually support his own weight with his mandibles! If it's still difficult for him, he'll rock back and forth on his back to get up enough momentum to flip himself over too. Usually he can flip himself over in 1-3 short seconds.

Is having a turtle as a pet illegal in New Jersey?
It's illegal to buy or sell box turtles in New Jersey. In fact, you get a pretty hefty fine if you do (up to $5000). You have to first get a hobby permit from out of state and a receipt of some sort that proves where it came from. You can call the Fish and Wildlife Association of New Jersey for more information on the permit. Then you can get the turtle. But if you find a turtle, don't even touch it. You have to call the Fish and Wildlife Association to get information on how to rescue it.

Can you keep yellow bellied turtles with Oscar fish?
The slyder requires different lighting than the Oscar. The trutle may try to eat the fish. Unless he is a larger fish. The slyder does not require a temp controlled environment like the Oscar. They also require different pH levels. You could try it but I would not expect great things for the Oscar. Turtles are also very dirty and may require another filter poss and under gravel. To make sure you turn over enough water to keep it cleaned.
How can you tell if a turtle is hungry?
Typically you will notice increased noctural exploration (roaming) of the pythons enclosure. Also occasionally the snake will be tempered and "bitey", if all husbandry requirements are met and the snake is not stressed.
