Certainly. Nothing intrinsic to the ingredients or preparation of beer is inherently unkosher. The beer is kosher unless it is brewed in a plant that also processes other items that are not kosher. In that case, a Jewish observer would be required to certify that separation is maintained between the processing lines; otherwise some cross-contact would have to be assumed, and the beer would be avoided by those concerned with keeping kosher.

Why did people invent cereal?

One of the inventors of cereal was Dr. Kellogg. He had a spa in Battle Creek, Michigan. A number of people had eating disorders. He created extremely thin sheets of toasted corn meal which broke into small flakes. The patients could eat them with no trouble.

One of his visitors was Mr. C. W. Post. He and Dr. Kellogg's brother thought of packaging the corn flakes. They tried packaging them, but when they shipped a few boxes, crumbs arrived. They added sugar and the flakes remained flakes. The two set up separate companies. Post called his product Post Toasties. Kellogg called his product Kellogg's Corn Flakes.

Dr. Kellog continued practicing medicine and had nothing to do with his invention. His brother and patient became extremely rich from it.
