Why are cheerleaders so strong?

There are several reasons. Cheerleaders watch their diets and eat healthy foods. Good nutrition is a key! Cheerleaders work out ALL the time. They practice really hard, run, lift weights, do yoga, tumbling, anything physical.

Its also the KIND of workout routine they do. There's static work and explosive work. The static work is like when they hold their teammates above in the air. Sure they may have help from two others, but they are doing this very often during the game! A cheerleader may weigh 115 lbs whereas a guy weighs 200 lbs. So 3 girls holding a 120 lb girl in the air for 10 seconds is like 1 guy holding a 70lb weight above his head for ten seconds. This kind of static work involves your whole body at once...and you have to breathe during all this, and when you are holding a 70 lb weight above your head think about how strong your back and abs must be to breathe properly? The explosive work happens all the time, jumps, arm punches, dancing. So static and explosive work is why they are strong and fit.

Cheerleaders are the best conditioned female athletes, excepting for gymnasts.

It takes lots of practice and repetition. One day you will get it and wonder why it took you so long. Doing drills such as jump-back (stand on the floor, set and jump back onto a big soft mat, like at the end of your tumble track. Work on getting as far back as you can) or doing back handsprings over barrel (round or octagonal mat. Set and jump back. The mat will only roll you aver if you jump back)

Please help how do you convince the cheer coach or school to have more cheerleaders?

Tell your coach that it will help get more stunt groups which will help you get more points when you compete. Also you could get more cheeleaders from the school by having sort of a "show off" thing where you and your team do some stunts such as jumps (hurkie, pikes, toe touches),one footed stunts( liberties, scales, bow and arrows), basket tosses , ect. this will probally help get people to notice the cool things cheerleaders do and mabey make them whant to join. You could also (with your coach's and principals permittion) put up "cheelreaders needed" flyers around school.

Why is it important to have a spotter when stunting in cheerleading?

It is important to have a spotter in cheerleading because whenever a new stunt is being attempted, there is a higher chance of the bases and backspot missing the flier on her way down from a stunt. Having a spotter will help reduce the chance of the flier being seriously injured. It is important for the spotter to be paying attention to the flier at all times.
