it should de-stroke it to something around a 327. it will fit but be sure to check for crank to piston and piston to head cylinder top clearance to ensure you don't run into engine detonation.
ummm no 305 and 350 have same stroke a 400 crank would make it a 334... same main and rod journals also stroke is 3.48

350 heads will bolt to the 400 block. They will need to be drilled for the "steam ports" in the 400 block.

tbi engine top end is different from carb engine top end.
on a carburated engine, the intake and heads use 90 degree angles for intake mounting bolts.
on a tbi engine, the intake and heads use 75 degree angles for intake bolts.
you can choose one of these three options:

intake manifold designed for tbi heads but utilizes a carb mounting flange on top
or
tbi manifold to spread bore or square bore adapter

Crank gear dot should point stright up / 12o clock with #1 pistion at TDC.
all the way up at the top of #1 cylinder.
The cam gear dot should point stright down At 6o clock. That will make both dots stright over top of each other. Then the crank and cam will be in time.

Very simply...it turns it into a 302 HO. It also changes the timing of the 302 to the timing of the 351.

With the valve fully closed and the lifter fully at the down position, tighten the adjusting nut until there is no up and down travel in the push rod. Then tighten the adjusting nut 1/4 turn. This is only if you have hydraulic lifters.
Tighten the rocker studs to 50 ft/lb of torque. These are the bolts holding the rocker assembly in place.
How do you know if your valve spring is brocken?
Your engine will probably missfire and you will not have compression in the cylinder that has the broken valve spring because your valve will stay open.
