Why doesnt your temp gage work on your 1992 camaro rs?

Your temp gauge is a very simple circuit with few things to go wrong. Your temp sensor may be bad, the gauge maybe bad, or the connecting path may be bad.

Sometimes if you have taken the gauge pack out, it does not seat right when it is reinstalled. The connection inside the dash is all pressure and prayer.

What would make engine sound like it is rattling?

It may be the main bearings or the thrust bearings. These are often noisiest when you first start the car and then quiet as the motor warms up.

Turn signal flasher 1968 camaro?

look in the fusebox or under the dash near the steering column.

Where is the speedometer cable on a 1991 Camaro rs?

How do you remove rear shocks on an 86 Camaro?

First, Jack the rear end up...place the jack under the differential, and jack it up enough to get the rear tires off the ground.

Next you need to open up the trunk, and remove the big plastic pieces around the trunk, then pull up the carpet.

You need to pull the carpet up all the way to the back of the rear seats, because you need to locate the 2 bolts on both sides.

Unscrew the bolts and the shock should release. Then go under the shock and unscrew that bolt and the shock should slide right out. Then remove the springs, and install the new shock.

Sounds a little complicated but trust me its easy, ive done it before on my 87 camaro

What is good oil pressure on a sbc 350 I am reading 10psi at idle and 55psi at cruising speed.?

In general, the engine should be able to maintain oil pressure at an idle. When the engine speed drops to an idle the oil pump naturally moves less oil, but there is nothing wrong with the pump, it's doing it's job perfectly. When the engine is at cruising speed the pump is turning faster and moving more oil. A potential exists for the pump to move so much oil that an overpressure condition would exist, destroying the pump, the drive mechanism or potentially one of the bearings.

To prevent that all engines are equipped with an oil pressure limiting mechanism. It's a simple spring loaded piston that is pushed out of the way when the pressure exceeds a specific setpoint, allowing extra oil to escape back to the crankcase.

Engines are designed so that the oil pump will maintain pressure at all speeds. Technically, the rod bearings and main bearings never actually touch the crankshaft; instead they ride on a film of pressurized oil. When the engine first starts the pressure has not yet built up and the bearings actually touch the crankshaft. Not much wear occurs but over time the babbit material that is on the bearing surface touches the crankshaft often enough that the babbit wears away, opening up the space between the bearing and the crankshaft. The larger space allows oil to leak past at a higher rate often overwhelming the pumps ability to keep up. That's when the oil pressure drops.

But don't worry, it isn't necessarily a TERRIBLE thing, it just means the engine is getting older.

The bypass pressure is the highest pressure that you see on the gauge when the engine is at cruising speed. That's when the pressure regulator is in control, that's how you like it. You don't want to "lug" the engine (put it under load) when there is low oil pressure as that can cause more bearing wear.

So...

Switch to a higher "viscosity" oil. That will be an oil with higher numbers. Whatever you've been using in the past, just go to the next number UP.

If you've been using 10W30, try a 15W40 or whatever works for your engine. You should see an immediate change in the oil pressure and the gauge SHOULD stay at or near the bypass pressure.

Where does a performance chip for a 1997 camaro rs v6 plug in at?

A chip won't work in a 97, you have to reprogram the computer with a new program.

How do you replace a tail light bulb on a Camaro?

In the third-gen Camaros and Firebirds, you must first remove the inside-rear of the trunk. That will give you access to several large plastic 'wingnuts' (usually black). Remove the wingnuts on the side that has the blown bulb. This will leave a stud that sticks in to the trunk where each of the wingnuts were. Push gently out on the studs, the tail light lens will loosen and can be pulled off the car. You can change the bulb by pushing in and turning. I always buy the higher cost, long life bulbs. This is too much of a pain to do over and over. It's also a good chance to clean the tail light lens and the area around it.

What if you have no power to the fuel pump on a 1992 camaro 3.1 v6?

Check fuse, relay and oil pressure sensor. In these cars this sensor will cut the fuel pump to save your motor if it reads too low oil pressure.

What kind of Gas does a v6 camaro use?

I use premium, but these things will run on nearly anything that you can get, as long as it is unleaded. Due to the weaker engine, I'd recommend Premium, simply because it gives you more power and because its better for the engine.

94 Camaro fuel pump relay?

under the foot rest next to the brake or cluch pedal.

How do you replace blown head gaskets out of 1997 Chevy Camaro?

are you sure its just a blown head gasket?... if heads are warped due to overheating replacing the gasket wont help you will need new heads as well. You can get a Haynes Manual or Chiltons, they will give you step by step guidance on replacing your gasket.

What would cause a 1967 camaro 327 engine after warmup to cut off when put into gear?

typically if the motors idles and revs, but dies under any kind of load (put into gear) then you have your timing set wrong. you need to use a timing light and make sure that it is set correctly before and after the timing advance. that would be the place to start.

91 Camaro rs will not idle?

If it's "hunting" for idle, it could either be your TPS (throttle body position sensor) has gone bad or in my case...bad fuel pump with intermitten fuel pressure.

Your clutch does not grip all the way?

replace it its the only way its a wearable part that requires replacement just like your brakes

Does the 1991 Camaro RS have a mechanical kickdown or a vacuum advance?

You are asking two separate questions. The transmission has a cable, mechanical, kickdown. The distributor does not have a vacuum advance.

How do you fix or pass or disable a VATs security system in a 92 camaro rs without paying the dealer hundreds to fix it?

How much horsepower does a stock 75 Camaro have?

The 75 camaro came in 3 varieties. The 250c.i. v-6 rated at 105hp. A two-barrel 350 v-8 rated at 145hp and a four barrel version of the same engine rated at 155hp. The v-8 engines' horsepower can be significantly improved by modest performance upgrades such as a carburetor, headers, or tuning all of which were restricted in favor of better fuel economy and emissions standards over the much higher rated horsepower cars earlier in the decade.
