Go to search on your computer and type in small block Chevy engine ID and you should find your answer there.Most 350s id#end with 010,which is a early engine,and if heads are off there will be a small hole between the two center head bolt holes.But the best way is ID#s.Hope that helps.

using number one plug as front drivers side my 6 cylinder firing order is 1, 6, 3, 5, 2, 4. My engine is out of a 69 Pontiac Sunbird but I believe it is the same as the Buick engine.

Ah, you're going to mess up a beautiful car. Anyway, to my knowledge, it's not a removal; it's a disconnection. If it's factory air and you just don't want it, open the hood, look in and somewhere on the right for a compressor. Those old cars didn't have serpentine belts like today's cars, so if it's a belt that doesn't operate any other part, like the alternator or power steering, remove the belt (some people just cut it off). Make sure a qualified mechanic has captured the freon before you remove hoses. Then look behind the compressor and loosen the remove the bolts that hold it to the block.

Remove the compressor, hoses and such and you're there. Better gas mileage anyway. I might've missed some points; get a Chilton repair book at the library and review before attacking this project.

If it's a small hole you can cut sheet metal and pop rivets or use screws to hold it down. Use caulking to seal the hole.

Assuming that you have an automatic transmission, this is a pretty involved process,so ask your self if it's worth the effort and expense.You need all the parts for a manual transmission swap. These would include, a manual transmission,a bell housing,a clutch and pressure plate,throwout bearing,another type flywheel,all related linkages,all related linkage and pedals for inside the car,another type of shifter,and possible driveshaft and crossmember change. It is possible,but not an easy option. .

If it is an automatic 3 speed, it is probably a TH350 tranny. an overdrive tranny which is just about the same length and requires almost no modification is the TH200-4R. most of these trannys are a Buick, Olds, Pontiac bellhousing design but there are some that have a Chevy bellhousing too.

The 1984 elc had the option of the 200r4 4 speed, everything older does not. The 200r4 is great because of the multi-use housing. Because the subframe is shorter on everything older then a 1984, you have to get either the transmission mount, on the original cross member, cut and rewelded 6 inches + a little (or on the back side of it) to the rear. Or you can order a new (fabricated) Crossmember with a subframe extender @ $300. I don't know if this holds true for a V-6.

it depends on the year, i have a 1971 el camino and the wheelbase is about 116 inches.

should use 5 quarts, put in 4 1/2 and check the dipstick. If it is still a little low put the rest of the fith quart in.

Fill the oil filter before you install it on the engine. NEVER install a dry filter. Then pour the rest of the 5 quarts into the engine.

Problem? Fuse? Low freon ( has to be converted from R-12 to R134A)
