I disagree with the above answer! I have a good friend who cannot chew gum, because the juice from it makes her stomach hurt AND my step son can only chew gum until it gets really juicy and then spits it out or, he too, gets a stomach ache! Yes! It can make your stomach hurt! I was actually looking on here to find out why when I ran across this answer!

Chewing gum for long hours or on an empty stomach isn't good. When you chew you swallow and this prepares your intestines for digestion and when there's nothing more to digest only air and saliva fills your stomach causing your intestines to hurt from grinding 'nothing'. Try and chew for about an hour at most and give it a break or eat something before you chew again.

It's different for everyone, but a lot of people think strawberry gum is awesome. personally, I like any fruit flavor. As for the brand, 5 rocks in flavor and the amount of time it tastes good, but if you want an inexpensive but long-lasting gum, try Extra(which I'm chewing right now). You can get Extra at any store for about $1.29, while 5 is about $2.29. If you just want to chew, Juicy fruit is good too, at about $.99, but the taste is short-lived. If you want gum that tastes good, I'd try Icebreakers. They're expensive, though, about $2.99, and doesn't last long, but the flavor is wonderful. I always have gum at hand, usually Extra or 5.

Yes, I am indeed a gum expert(Well, as much as a 12 year old can be) and have been chewing it nonstop since I was old enough to chew. I have tasted nearly every brand and flavor of gum and love most of them.

Many people will put a chew in their mouth, and keep it there for 4-8 hours. This will also depend on the amount of dip they put in their mouth. Some can take a half a can. Other users who take smaller dips are taking up to 8-10 dips a day depending on their situation whether they can chew or not. It will always be a custom to the user.

It depends on how much you chew it. It might also last up to 6-20 hours. I have stayed up all night and all day and never ran out of flavor...(: that's the good part of having gum that has a strong flavor...:D but sometimes it goes hard before you can chew the rest of the falvor...:D LoL!!... preverted...(: anyways, I you can chew Big Red for along time because I did..O: you just learned something from Christine Bagwell and I ain't that smart either but I know about my gum...Because I am doing a science project on gum!! wells bye..(: ttyl...:D

You can never really know how 'stretchy' bubble gum is. It would not be strong enough to shoot something, like in a sling. How stretchy gum might be depends on if it sugar-free or not. Sugar-free gum tends to not be as sticky and thick, unlike sugary gum with may be thicker.

Sorbitol is an artificial sweetener used in sugarless gum and other items. It is what appears as a "sugar alcohol" which it is only called that because the compound looks like a sugar molecule and an alcohol molecule.

It is acutally a carbohydrate that sweetens with half the calories of sugar. Most gums contain about 1.25 grams of sorbitol or other chemicals that end in -ol. Sorbitol, in high doses, can however cause irritable bowl syndrome because it causes what is called malabsorbtion and bybasses the intestines almost untouched. So, it'll build up in you if you're a big chewer. It is NOT lethal unless in excessively massive doses, so chew away.

Sorbitol is also attibuted to weight loss if you chew around 20 grams per day (about a pack and a half of Stride gum)

yesm chewing gum lasts for years and years, and it solidifies fast, and is considered one of the most dangerous waste.the remains of the first chewed gum ever are still in a museum, after 200 years, and it`s still comestible.

Because typically gum chewers don't dispose of gum in paper in a trash can. They tend to put gum on or under seats, desks, floors, on walls, in peoples' hair and generally all over the place. Those dark circular-like spots you see on sidewalks and parking lots, etc are all gum. It is icky and disgusting to step in it and to have to look at it and schools don't want to have to pay someone to clean gum that students discard everywhere.and teachers are just drunk when they say that.

The constant snapping and chomping also causes anxiety in a lot of people who suffer in silence as the gum chewer mindlessly and thoughtlessly chomps away without regards as to how this affects others. It is very rude to snap and chomp gum in a public setting.
