Depends on which airport you are flying into, but non-stop expect anywhere from 2-3 hours of flight time.

Both airports have excellent public transportation to downtown Chicago.

Either one really. O'Hare has more flights, but Midway typically has lesser expensive flights. I live in the far North suburbs, so Midway is farther from me, but I will often use Midway because of lower fares. I also find that Midway is a bit cleaner and more organized than O'Hare. This is likely because of it's smaller size.

its midway for sure because for one its smaller and thus faster plus o hare is so busy i remember when i took a plane to new Orleans and i almost got lost it took atleast 15-20 mins to find my terminal and don't even get me started on parking.

I believe there are many areas of Chicago that are "GUN FREE ZONES." Most schools & university campuses across the US are also Gun Free Zones.

One would have to know the specific areas in Chicago that are declared Gun Free Zones.

As many proponents of conceal carry will point out, law-abiding citizens will obey the law, and not bring a firearm into Gun Free Zones. Unfortunately, most criminals couldn't care less about such laws (which is why they are criminals). In fact, they may even chose to commit crimes in Gun Free Zones because they are pretty sure that their victims will obey the law, and not be armed.
