Yes! It happened to me recently. I was prescribed codeine to help with a terrible cough so that I could sleep at night. I experienced what can only be described as the worse pain of my life. the pain came like contractions, every 3-5 minutes and each "contraction" lasted 3-5 minutes. After about an hour they subsided. It was very scary, and excruciating...and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. My two children were born without meds and this was worse than childbirth!

You should not take Flexeril with codeine, no. You can take either Flexeril and ibuprofen or Codeine and ibuprofen. Taking two sedative drugs together can cause you to pass out and have trouble breathing. Ibuprofen is harsh on the stomach, so you should have some food before you take it. And you should decide which relaxant you want to take with the ibuprofen because you should not take both.

Codeine is converted by the liver into Morphine, which causes its pharmaceutical effects, Codeine itself it pharmaceutically inactive as it can't get into the brain. Two common pain relievers that do not contain aspirin are--

codeine is a derivative of opiates. rather ur being tested specifically for codeine or opiates (most likely both??). as far as i know they just check for opiates, not specifically codeine. however within 3 days of being clean u should be fine

If you were prescribed codeine by two different doctors, then you should ask a pharmacist or one of the doctors first before taking both of them. If the second doctor that prescribed the codeine to you doesn't know you're already taking it, then him prescribing it to you was an error. Taking two types of codeine together is effectively taking a larger dose. Taking too large of a dose of powerful drugs like codeine is dangerous.

On the other hand, if a single doctor prescribed both to you, and told you to take both of them, then you probably should.

It depends upon the cause. You would need to be more specific. Also, do consult with a physician.

If you are noticing edema in the arms and feet you may have non-pitting edema. However, Edema can be caused by a multitude of diseases or complications from said diseases. Typically edema is present in people with Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) or people with CHF (Congestive Heart Failure). Adult formulations have more Tylenol(acetaminophen) in them than childrens' codeine/APAP syrups and could be lethal to a child. It is not worth the risk. Codeine is a cough suppressant, but, again, it is dangerous to give children adult medications. It is illegal to give anyone prescription medication if it is not prescribed for that person. For colds, nutritional support and increased fluids are helpful and for coughing, there are OTC cough medications or "steaming in the shower/bathroom" alternatives...until you can get pediatric medication.
