My mom's friend brought back some acetiminophen325mg 15mg caffiene and 8mg codiene. not exactly a Tylenol 3 but it does have codeine in it. Although the bottle says regular strength so maybe the extra is better.

It's can harmful.. but many drugs last way beyond their exp. dates..but it may not be effective. As well as, When pharmacists place expiration dates on drugs, it's an estimate as to how long it will remain effective. They rarely perform extensive tests to determine if the drugs or packing materials will form dangerous chemicals over time. As a general rule, you should never take expired medicine. Especially not when it's almost 4 years past the expiration date. Be safe and throw them away. Doctors won't normally recommend it, but you can. In addition to the high amount of Percocet that I use, I also have severe migraines, which affects a different part of the nervous system that Percocet won't affect.

In those cases I use a drug call Fiorinal with Codeine, which is a combination drug containing Butalbital, Aspirin and Codeine, with a shot of Caffeine as well. I don't feel any problems from the interaction, and Percocet opiate levels are at pretty high levels in my system.

Every person is different though, so even though you can take them together doesn't mean you should or that it will affect you the same as it does me. Always check with your MD first or your Pharmacist. Pharmacists are usually more up front and honest than MD's are.
