You can get herpes from both a bite or drinking directly with in seconds after some one with a visible cold sore.

Oral herpes could be passed through biting if some one bites through the skin while they have a cold sore.

It's possible but not as likely to get it through sharing drinks as herpes doesn't like to live in fluids or on objects for more thena few seconds.

Oral it's most likely to be passed on by being innocently kissed on or around the mouth by some one that has a visible cold sore or fever blister.

Genital herpes is not passe like that.

Herpes is contracted from skin to skin contact; doesn't matter if it is male or female.

This could be a variety of things. Strep throat maybe but that becomes sore, possible STD - you should seek medical attention in the event it is a STD in your mouth/throat before it becomes serious.

Cold sores are apread by skin-to-skin contact with an infected person, at the location where the virus is active, during a time when they are shedding virus. People with the cold sore virus shed the virus when the cold sores are present, but may also shed virus at other times.

Went in a public jacuzzi where it turns out they do not use chlorine (only an infrared cleaning system). Sat without a swimsuit (like the others in there at the time) for 15 minutes. Didn't touch anyone but rocked on the seat (not smooth). Ended up with herpes on my butt. Have been in a committed heterosexual relationship for years but have not had sex in over a month because of my partner's recent surgery. We've both been laid off and consequently home with each other virtually all the time (my partner doesn't even have a car). No other possible exposure to herpes. Now someone tell me you can't get herpes through water.

You can look in a medical book. These can be found in college and university libraries. They might be difficult to find. You can look at a medical school website.

They would have to touch a cold sore then with in seconds touch your genitals in order for you to have any chance of getting herpes on your genitals. Or they would have to give you oral sex while they had a visible cold sore.

By the way... cold sores are rarely caused by genital herpes (HSV2), they are caused by the oral herpes virus (HSV1).

Skin to skin contact will transmit the virus.

Cold sores are very contagious during a break out. If you have a visible cold sore then don't share things like utensils or cups when you have a break out. You also shouldn't be kissing any one (specially children) on or around the mouth until the cold sore has completely gone away.

You should also know cold sores can also be spread during oral sex. If you give some one oral sex while you have a vsible cold sore you could pass it to your partner's genitals.

It's safer to do those things in between break outs or when you have no signs or symptoms of a cold sore.

The herpes virus causes cold sores to appear.

I'm going to say it's probably not the best thing to use to treat cold sores with. It's a cream that is used to treat lesions in cancer patients.

All you need for a cold sore is an over the counter cream or antiviral medication.

Drinking a lot of acid will not cause a fever blister.

If you have been sexually active, without using protection you could have an STD. If you have not been sexually active you could have a bacteria infection.

Anytime you have painful sores or pain in the general area of unexplained sores on or near your vagina you should see a doctor, or health clinic - to be sure there is no infection inside your vagina that could also develop in your uterus and result in scar tissue that could take your fertility.

Cold sores are caused by a virus, and polysporin is not active against viruses, so it won't work for cold sores.

Herpes blisters do have a clear pus in them. This pus is actually the virus in a concentrated form. That's why you need to take extra good care of your hygiene when these are present.

Extremely unlikely. HIV is a bloodborne virus and so it is transmitted by blood to blood contact. If the woman has open sores in her mouth and you have an open and bleeding wound on your penis then it is possible to transmit HIV. But if the skin on your penis is intact and she is not bleeding from her mouth then it is extremely unlikely that you could catch HIV by receiving fellatio from a woman who was HIV positive.

Bactroban is not effective for viral cold sores.

Other names for a cold sore are fever blister, oral herpes, labial herpes, herpes labialis, and herpes febrilis.

One notable difference is the method of contraction. You can contract genital herpes by sexual contact ("sexual" being short-hand for skin-to-genital contact) with someone who is him/herself infected with genital herpes. Shingles, on the other hand, is a recurrence of chickenpox. It isn't contracted by sexual contact except in the rare instance where you originally got chickenpox by having sex with somebody with chickenpox. You simply can't spread shingles to somebody else if you have shingles. What you WILL spread to them is chickenpox . . . but only if they haven't had it yet. Shingles is also less likely to recur than genital herpes, which typically breaks out between three and five times a year. You can potentially have shingles and then never get it again. For what it's worth, I had "genital" shingles as well, which was misdiagnosed as genital herpes, notwithstanding my protestations that my and my wife's lifestyle choices made genital herpes very unlikely. (I think the doctor just assumed I was lying about having been monogamous.)
