Amherst College, though they played their games by so-called Massachusetts rules, rather than Kickerbocker rules which more closely mirror the current game.

588 pitchers have appeared in at least one game in 2009. 420 are right handed, and 168 are left handed. This means that 71% of pitchers are right handed and 29% are left-handed, which comes to a righty-to-lefty ratio of about 2.5:1.

The first known intercollegiate baseball game took place in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on July 1, 1859, between squads representing Amherst College and Williams College. Amherst won, 73-32. This game was one of the last played under the "Massachusetts rules", which prevailed in New England until the "New York rules" developed in the 1840s gradually became accepted.[1] The Fordham Rose Hill Baseball Club of St. John's College in New York (now Fordham University) played the first ever nine-man team college baseball game on November 3, 1859 against (the now defunct) St. Francis Xavier College.

UVA-Wise will play the 2013 season as a Division I NAIA college. It will be transferring athletic conferences to NCAA Division II as of the 2013-2014 season.

As of October 2023, the Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams that have never played in the College World Series are Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Missouri. While these programs have had success in college baseball, they have not yet reached the pinnacle of the College World Series. Other SEC teams, such as Florida and LSU, have made multiple appearances and won championships.

The answer which comes immediately to mind is Georgia Tech. Renowned engineering school, and a perennial power in college baseball.

I'm not too familiar with the top engineering schools nationwide, but if it'd be a simple matter for you to compile that list, then you could simply compare it against the steady college baseball contenders - Texas, LSU, Miami, Stanford, etc.

As a devoted fan, now, I do need to add - If you're a first-round pick out of high school who actually plans to attend college, definitely c'mon down to Miami! Just check out Ryan Braun's college and MLB careers for a recent template - If there's a single human being anywhere who had more fun in college (both on and off the field) (and who's having more fun up in the Show), I don't know who it could be. I'm sure Miami's engineering school is fine!

The University of Oklahoma won the 1994 College World Series. They defeated Georgia Tech 13-5 in the championship game.

Boston College and Oklahoma have met twice, once in 1949 and again in 1950. Oklahoma won both games.

He or she can be on the active roster for up to four years. They can have one medical redshirt, and one normal redshirt. Technically, a player can be a part of theri organization for 6 years as a player, but can only be on the active roster (available to play) for four years maximum.

The Reds completed their sweep of the Oakland A's on Saturday, 1990 October 20.
