In "computer speak" a word is a specific amount of storage. The exact size of a word varies from machine to machine, however. If you read that your system has an 8-bit word, then it means that any time you see "word" you can think of 8 bits (and if you see "double word" or "quad word" you can think 16 bits or 32 bits, respectively).

USB was created by a core group of companies that consisted of Compaq, Digital, IBM, Intel, Northern Telecom, and Microsoft. There are many disadvantages of magnetic tape.

1. Mag tape is in physical contact with the recording heads, causing friction and wear.

2. Magnetic tape is an analog medium, even when digital data is being stored.

3. Tape can stretch or break, or lose its magnetic data due to age, heat or the Earth's magnetic field.

A could be considered both an input and an output. Data can be written to the strip. Data can also be read from the strip. When data is written to the strip it the strip could be considered the input. When data is read from the strip it could be considered the output.

Just my personal opinion

Form factors are usually the configuration, size and physical arrangement of computer hardware in computers. If one is referring to electric motors, then form factor is known as the amount of rectified current based on a direct current.

Soft copy output is the text/graphics that are displayed on the computer screen. Hard copy is the page on which the text/graphics have been printed in a printer and can be held in your hand.

If the Network Cards(NIC) has a feature called Auto-MDIX which is a computer networking technology that automatically detects the required cable connection type (straight-through or crossover) and configures the connection appropriately, thereby removing the need for crossover cables to interconnect switches or connecting PCs peer-to-peer.

Compaq / HP does not provide Windows XP drivers for this model. if you want to install Windows XP on it, you will have to research who the ODMs for the different parts were (graphics card, LAN card, wireless, etc...), and download generic drivers from their sites.

A disk drive is all three, depending on the situation. It is an input device when it provides stored data to an application. It is an output device when it receives data from an application. It is a storage system when it saves the data for future use.
