Its all about finding the printer on the network. Is it attached to a computer on the network? Or is it a network printer? Go to the machine you want to print from / control panel / printers / search for network printer.... and then just locate and add.

I recommend not to plug the printer to your computer yet. Insert the installation CD that came with the printer in your computer. Run the software. It will also show you instructions on how to setup the printer itself. Follow the instructions. If you don't have the installation CD, you can download the updated driver from the Lexmark website www.lexmark.com. Hope this helps.

The Brother 885cw uses a wireless system called 802.11b/g. Apple uses this system in the AirPort family of devices. Some Macs have AirPort built in. For those that do not you need to buy a compatible AirPort device, such as AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express, or an AirPort Card.

After installing the AirPort software, an icon will appear in the menubar that looks like a set of waves arcing up. Click on the icon to discover other AirPort or 802.11b/g devices within range. You should select a secure level to bar unwanted users from accessing your network without permission.

There are a number of good high speed laser printers to choose from. You can try using models from such makers as HP, Canon, Brother and Lexmark for some good examples.

After so much paper goes through the rollers they pick up dust and does't stick. Some models you can unplug and then use a q tip soaked in alcohol to clean the roller. Others require you to take them apart to clean. If you have to take it in to get fixed then check out the new ones from a computer store. Sometimes its cheaper to get a new printer than go get yours repaired or cleaned. If you do decide to have it done look really close when they get done and ensure the rollers were cleaned with alcohol. Otherwise they might still have a oil coating on then and that causes them to slip also, especially on photo paper. They will argue in some places that the alcohol will dry out the rubber and it will age and crack. Although this is true I have yet to see a dry, aged or cracked pickup roller, even 15 years in the business. I think that's because it takes longer to age and crack a rubber roller than it does to just wear out the machine.

what you do is to connect all wires to your computer, then you have to go to what ever you are printing from, wrd,excel etc. then hit print. make sure printer is on and make sure there is ink in there. and that should work.
