bftl.exe is an unknown process on the computer. From some forums, we can learn that it is an harmful process that is used by spyware programs to hurt the system. So it is highly suggested that the bftl.exe should be immediately removed from the computer.

It shouldn't, but it depends on how good your software is, and how complex the virus is. Norton are generally recognised as the best, but different software has different attributes.

If you have anti-virus software and you get a virus, then it may have been out-of-date, or had a problem with it.

If I were you, I'd get a mac, because not as many viruses have been developed for mac, and they're just generally good.

usally antivruses check system32 for viruses, or if, for some reason you are doing it yourself you can either delete the ones that you know are viruses, or google the filename to see if its legit.

It may be overheating. Check your system, motherboard and processor fans for blockage and performance.

if it's an internal HD then just buy a bare External HD "Enclosure", put the hard drive in it and hook it to the computer. Have the Anti-Virus scan the hard drive.

If it's an external HD, just plug it into another computer with the Anti-Virus software active.

If you want a license key for the STOPzilla antivirus software, you are going to have to purchase the software. There are free trials available for download.

You connect it on a pc that runs an untivirus

and just run a full scan on the disk.

To make sure no virus can pass on the main pc

you could install and run some program that prevent

changes on your pc. This is not necessary but if you worry too

much you can do it as an extra precation.

A decent antivirus should block any infection passing on your pc

If not, check it and your search option will reappear. If it is checked then you have another problem.

A file cannot (in general) contain other files or folders in the traditional sense. A zip or other archive file can contain other files or folders and a document file can have a file in it as an embedded object, but these are special applications.

A virus can spread without Internet through a LAN (Local Area Network) if you have one, through transferred files, or through removable media.

If your computer is connected to a local network which links multiple computers to each other, but not the Internet, the virus may be able to jump from one computer to the next within the LAN. This can be prevented by disconnecting the infected computer from the LAN.

If you copy files from an infected computer, they can also be potentially infected.
