HI I've had the same problem myself spy-bot search and destroy keeps picking up right media when i do a Scan try to remove it but it keeps coming back have done some research into the matter and have found that only a full system restore can get rid of it.But just to put your mind at ease it uses your keystrokes to gather the info of the sites you are on for big market research company so that they can make products to to suit every-ones need and make tones of money.All said its as easy as using a free program called Key scrambler just google it and install.Right media is a company under yahoos name and mostly install through internet explorer.so try to stay away from both as much as possible hope this helps.

The best antivirus protection comes from the following programs. If you're looking for free ones use, Avg, Avira, or Avast. I personally tried all three and like Avast the best. Mostly because it has a better anti-rookit engine, with less annoying pop-ups. These pop-ups have to do with updates, and false warnings. If you want a commercial antivirus program try BitDefender Plus, it has the best features and lowest price. Seoond place is Kaspersky, which has really good features and protection more expensive though. Third place is Norton and Webroot both cost the same and nearly on equally footing, but Webroot is a bit better. This is my honest, original, correct answer.

The first part of that answer says nothing. The last part is relevent. If the virus is designed to attack the restore points, yes it could.

More than likely there is too much junk being loaded up at start-up. Login to safe mode and uninstall some stuff. I get at least 2 computers with that same problem to fix guaranteed every week. I find some of the biggest culprits are msn, windows live and sign-in assistant and especially any emoticons packages you may have downloaded.... Norton is very resource hungry too and so is AVG. When your back up and running do a disk defragmentation and a general clean-up. Do your windows updates and get any service packs you may need and perhaps, if your computers really slow you could wipe it. If you need any more assistance just message me. thanks this helped :-)

It depends on what type of threat you have and you should ask Dave Kaspersky or the Norton anti-virus people try calling them.

You can try system utility sfc

Press "Win + R" buttons on your keyboard and type sfc /scannow

If that won't help you can try to download Special utility - as I remember Svchost Fix Wizard (google it) - it cost money but it helped me.

No HyperCam don't have virus.

hypercam 3 from cnet downloads has a virus. I downloaded it and AVG said it was a threat so i moved it to the virus vault

Generally, taskeng.exe is not a virus. It's a component of the Windows Task Scheduler subsystem. If the file is located in the system32 directory it's a legitimate part of the OS. If it's elsewhere on your system, it could be malware masquerading as a legitimate Windows component.
