Is AVG Anti-Virus a good program to have on your computer?

AVG is well made software but it does something that I don't like. You see it has a virus vault feature. The problem is you can send the viruses that were infecting your computer and send them to your friends as attachments. That is fun for you but it is bad for those who don't have protection or have out dated software. AVG is free in some versions but I recommend Windows Live Onecare. It is a world class piece of software that protects against all threats it also has some great features.

AnswerNo dout its a good antivirrus and it can be easily and freely download from the internet

What is dllhostexe or COM Surrogate the thing that spams you music and ads?

DLLHost is an executable designed to load and run DLLs in memory that otherwise have no application host and would be unable to run. Many system functions are written as DLL files and hosted by DLLHost. Unfortunately, some virus, adware, and malware also use DLLHost to hide themselves in. DLLHost itself is a system function that's required to run your computer, but the culprit in this case is some software hiding inside DLLHost. You must not remove DLLHost from your computer, but you should use an anti-malware program (Windows Defender, AVG, Super Anti-Spyware, Spy Doctor, etc) to remove the malicious DLL that is spamming you with music and ads.

Why do you shut down computer?

So that you can save power and turn it on the next time you use it.

A:You don't have to completely shut it down if you plan on using it within the next few hours. I would recommend placing it in Standby. Standby can cut power to peripheral devices, your monitor, even your hard drive, but maintains power to your computer's memory so you don't lose your work.

Which pc tools provide the best antivirus protection?

The best antivirus protection comes from the following programs. If you're looking for free ones use, Avg, Avira, or Avast. I personally tried all three and like Avast the best. Mostly because it has a better anti-rookit engine, with less annoying pop-ups. These pop-ups have to do with updates, and false warnings. If you want a commercial antivirus program try BitDefender Plus, it has the best features and lowest price. Seoond place is Kaspersky, which has really good features and protection more expensive though. Third place is Norton and Webroot both cost the same and nearly on equally footing, but Webroot is a bit better. This is my honest, original, correct answer.

Can viruses delete system restore points?

Typically they can not, unless they programed to do so. Most of the time it depends on the virus and what it's targeting.

-----

The first part of that answer says nothing. The last part is relevent. If the virus is designed to attack the restore points, yes it could.

Help When I log onto a user on my Xp computer all I get is a comleatly blue screen with a mouse no words. I click but nothing happens. I can turn my computer on and off but that is all. What can I do?

More than likely there is too much junk being loaded up at start-up. Login to safe mode and uninstall some stuff. I get at least 2 computers with that same problem to fix guaranteed every week. I find some of the biggest culprits are msn, windows live and sign-in assistant and especially any emoticons packages you may have downloaded.... Norton is very resource hungry too and so is AVG. When your back up and running do a disk defragmentation and a general clean-up. Do your windows updates and get any service packs you may need and perhaps, if your computers really slow you could wipe it. If you need any more assistance just message me. thanks this helped :-)
