What does steampunk cosplay makeup look like?

User Avatar
Steampunk is all about post-apocalyptic style. I would go with gold or bronze eyeshadow with some eyeliner and mascara for the eye make-up, and wear bronzer rather than blush!

What is the difference between cosplay and costume?

User Avatar
A costume could be anything! It really could just be a random wig and a cheap out fit. But a cosplay is a very good quality costume, mainly designed for Anime and Manga or featured gaming characters like Mario and Luigi and Prinsess peach. Although for very popular characters it could be either a costume or a cosplay. It really depends on it's quality.

How do I build an earpiece for my TF2 Scout cosplay?

User Avatar
If you want to be lazy use an xbox headset. If you want it to look good get a pair of ear muffs from a hardware store that are orange cut one off or if possible just remove one side then glue a piece of tube with a foam microphone piece at the end.

I want to cosplay in public but no one will do it with me. where would I generally meet people that might want to do it with me?

User Avatar
Anime and other conventions like Sakura con or comic con. You could also convince your friends to do minimalist cosplays with you, for instance, I have convinced my brother to cosplay Yato from Noragami. He is just wearing a track suit and a ripped loose scarf.

Who sponsors a cosplay event?

User Avatar
Usually an anime/video game convention. Answer: The bigger ones are usually sponsored by convention companies, for example ComicCon which sponsors Fanime, Otakon, etc. There are many smaller ones for specific animes or games which are sponsored and organized by the fans themselves, for example Hetalia fans are organizing a north California cosplay event this June.

Is dressing up as ni hao Kai-lan cosplay?

User Avatar
Cosplay is short for Costume Play. Although the majority of costumes are of anime and video game characters, it could be a costume for anything. You could dress up as a dog and it would still count as cosplay.

Where can you find good BLEACH cosplay patterns?

User Avatar
No where. You either need to find a commercial pattern and alter it, or learn how to draft/drape your own pattern. Look at the forums at cosplay.com (or another website like that), and you should be able to find plenty of tips from other cosplayers.

What or Who Are The Best Things To Cosplay As?

User Avatar
This depends entirely on what you enjoy! You should probably choose a character that you really like or identify with. Keep in mind a few things when you choose: -How complicated is it going to be to make this thing? Even if you aren't building it yourself, more complex costumes usually cost more to buy from other people. -Are there things on your physical body you will need to account for? Don't worry about body weight or skin tone or anything like that- anyone who is a decent person knows that's not something you can influence. But as an example, I wear glasses. For a long time I had no contacts, and had to pick characters that wore glasses. (This isn't totally necessary, but if you're picky like me it was the only option). On a different but just a relevant note: do you have the endurance to wear that costume? Large, heavy, hot cosplays can be dangerous for people with low heat tolerance or stamina, so be safe! -How much time do you have? If you're trying to get to a specific event, you want to make sure you can actually get the costume done in time. If not, you can always wear pieces separately in a sort of "closet cosplay", or come up with casual outfits for that character. People may not recognize you as much for this however, so simply keep that in mind. -Popularity. I don't personally agree with this one, but if you are cosplaying to find popularity (which I would personally interject and advise you not to do) or find many people who enjoy the same things, obscure titles can be the absolute death of you. Sometimes it's really cool to be the only one of your kind in a convention or event, and sometimes it can be very lonely and boring. Ultimately this choice is up to you. Keep safety and fun in highest priorities when choosing a character, and I wish you luck!

Would you cosplay at a nightclub?

User Avatar
I have personally done this, and it is great fun! There are some things you need to consider, though: Businesses of any kind typically have stipulations against concealing one's identity. Be sure to call ahead of time to make sure they're okay with it, specifically if you're planning to wear a mask or something similar. (Or if your cosplay takes up a massive amount of space or has questionable props.) It's also a good idea to always go in a group. In my particular case, an event was held in the club, so there were many people in cosplay there. If you want to find or organize cosplay events, facebook or similar social networking sites are good places to start. Best of luck to you!

How can you make a Miku Hatsune cosplay shirt?

User Avatar
Get the fabrics and the materials needed for sewing. You will need to know how to sew before making it. or you could buy it or get a friend to make it for you. for a small price or just out of love. For just the Miku Hatsune Outfit (in general): Start with a plain gray shirt with or without a collar and pocket. ( make sure you can fit it!) Cut off the arms and stitch the edges to make them look straighter. Get a blue tie and stitch on or sew on two black strips of fabric on the middle of the tie. If you want to,put a yellow handkerchief in the pocket or sew on a yellow piece of fabric on the left side of the chest area. Get blue fabric to stitch onto the bottom of the shirt, make sure the stitches are noticeable and the fabric's end is see able.
