I'm wondering the same thing. i think that excuse ill not be believable, especially if your a x addict. but can they prove it? alcohol does raise your metabolites way more than the correct dose of NyQuil would. you would have to have drank a hole bottle. also my counselor said there's a problem if you are drinking that much NyQuil. but YES it can be detected but not an excuse if your trying to get out of a alcohol test. good luck to all of us in our journey of life.

All i can speak from is personal experience...and all of my health care professionals have suggested NOT taking any other drug/substance that can increase the liklihood of becoming sleepy. For me it hightens the chance of seizure activity. I'd say if you can at all help it stay away from all night time drugs.

The "DM" portion of the medication is not a decongestant. It stands for Dextromethorphan which is a cough suppressant...and which (in the form of Robitussin DM) is considered safe by many OB doctors.

Mucinex DM is safe during pregnancy. Had the same issue today actually. 12 weeks pregnant and unsure of what to take. Went to CVS without my cell so I couldn't call my OB. I asked the pharmacist and he said mucinex DM would be best. He recommended not taking anything with sudafed or phenylephrine in it, which rules out any type of Tylenol cold medicine. Mucinex DM is not a decongestant, its a cough suppressant. Mucinex D is the decongestant. If you're congested and coughing, take the Mucinex DM for the cough and a saline nasal spray for the congestion. Pharmacist recommended method.

You should ask your doctor before taking Excedrin and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) together.

Excedrin contains acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspirin, and caffeine.

Aspirin and ibuprofen are in the same category of medication - non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). Taking them at the same time may damage the stomach lining and create ulcers, as well as create bleeding issues.

yes, you can. one is a narcotic and the other is simply a cough suppressant (which will make you rather dehydrated due to the guafennisen in it) with a sleep-aid in it called diphehydramine. you ll be super sleepy, so make sure you re not needing to perform ANY activities soon after your doses that require your FULL attention IE: drive, handle children, cooking. take the recommended dose for both when taken alone or together, and you ll be just fine. if you have any more questions, you can gain one on one answers from any pharmacist. just look up any random pharmacy, and they can answer all of your questions, even if you've never filled there.

Depends on how much you are taking. Nyquil has aceteminephen (sp?)in it too so you should see what the total dose is that you have taken. The Tylenol bottle should have a dosage chart on it with the 'maximum dose' you should ingest. Too much acetaminephen can damage your kidneys and/or liver.
