What is crab mentality?

Crab MentalityCrab Mentality describes a way of thinking best described by the phrase...."if i can't have it, neither can you". It's a metaphor referring to a pot of crabs in which one of them tries to escape and instead is pulled down by the rest of them.

I'm not sure what it means....but I'm guessing that it has to do with the fact that if you're in a situation.... don't try to squeeze your way out of it.... 'cause everyone else will just pull you back into the problem but even deeper than before!

Edit: In regards to the 2nd paragraph above, it's a totally different definition from what he/she thinks it means.

Crab mentality basically means how people bring you down just to get themselves to the top. This entails bad rumors and gossip against you that will cause others to think you are opposite of who you really are. Once a "crab" pulls you in, it will be hard to get back up.

What does the hermit crab share symbiosis with?

Hermit crabs share symbiotic relationship with sea anemones. These invertebrates are covered with stinging cells which explode at the slightest touch. But hermit crabs regularly carry sea anemones around with them, stuck to their shells. In fact, they will often pick up sea anemones and 'plant' them on their backs, and when they move to another shell, will take their resident sea anemone with them!

This co-operation works well for both partners; the sea anemone eats food particles left by the crab, and the crab is protected from its enemies, notably octopuses, by the stinging cells of the sea anemone.

Who was the first human to eat a crab?

Though well-known worldwide, the hairy crab from Yangcheng Lake appears terrifying. Then who was the first man to eat the crab?

Thousands of years ago, as legend has it, ancestors of the human race had already settled down to the south of the Yangtze River. In a low-lying area like this with abundant rainfall as well, floods frequently took place. Out of rivers and lakes, from time to time, came shelled creatures which were inclined to creep towards light. They were fiendish-featured with a pair of pincers and four pairs of claws. Not only did they eat grains in the paddy field, but they also attacked people with sharp pincers. Intimidated as if they were tigers and wolves, the forefathers called them the clamping pest. Since disturbance by these pests gravely impeded the farmer's harvest, people boiled them to death on a fire. The dead pests, bright red all over, piled up mountain-high, smelled delicious and appetizing. Out of curiosity, a man named Ba Jie took a pest and closely examined it. Then he broke off the shell and ate it fearlessly. It seemed that he was enjoying it, so others followed his example. Ever since then, the ancestors had no longer been afraid of the clamping pest and the once scary pest had become a household delica
