What do the big bang theory and the Hindu creation story have in common?

Both the Big Bang theory and the Hindu creation story describe the origin of the universe and all living beings. They both suggest that everything began from a single point and expanded to form the vastness we see today. Additionally, both narratives involve the concept of cycles of creation and destruction.

Why did God nee to take a rest after finishing His creation?

G-D did not need to take a rest. HE took a rest, because people need to rest up and sleep after working hard. To quote Christ Jesus: "Man was not created for the Sabbath, the Sabbath was created for Man." G-D rested because people need to rest up and therefore as a lesson to humans (created on the 6th day), take a rest and get some sleep after working hard.

What was the dogma of special creation?

In the Western world, Special Creation was the dominant theory of the origin of the world and life in it from the sixteenth century until the nineteenth century when it was supplanted by scientific theories, particularly the Theory of Evolution.
Special Creation was given special impetus in the 1880s in an attempted response to the Theory of Evolution. Some Creationists asserted that the the universe and all life in it were created by God in a very short space of time, a few thousand years ago, just as they believed that Genesis describes creation. They say that Genesis is an accurate historical account of creation of the universe over the course of six twenty-four hour days.
The Roman Catholic Church sees "special creation" somewhat differently. The Pontifical Biblical Commission issued a decree ratified by Pope Pius X on June 30, 1909 that "special creation" only applied to man, not to the other species. In 2004, the International Theological Commission, under the presidency of Cardinal Ratzinger, published a paper in which it accepted the scientific explanation of the history of the universe, commencing in the Big Bang about 15 billion years ago, and the evolution of all life on earth, including humans, from the micro organisms commencing about 4 billion years ago. In modern Catholic teaching, the doctrine of "special creation" refers only to the origin of the human soul.

What is atheistic creationism?

Atheistic creationism is the view held by a number of idealist and Buddhist philosophers especially in the 19th century and the early 20th century.

Basically every object and thing in the universe even down to the smallest atom is a mental creation, created out of mind. Minds are indeed the creators of the universe. But unlike George Berkeleys subjective idealism which was theistic for atheistic creationism there is no divine mind, there is no God. All creations were created from human minds or other forms of life.

When did time begin according to Einstein's view?

According to Einstein's theory of relativity, time is intertwined with space in a four-dimensional spacetime. Time does not have a distinct beginning as it is part of this interconnected continuum. This means that asking when time began may not have a meaningful answer within this framework.

What is the truth that the first creation story reveals to us?

Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that the first biblical creation story (Genesis 1:1-2:4a) differs from the second creation story (Genesis 2:4b-25) not only in content but also in tone, mood and orientation. It also portrays a sequence of creation quite at odds with what science tells us really happened. So, any truths in the first creation story must be moral truths, not answers about how we were created and why we are here.

The first biblical creation story tells us that the earth existed before the sun, moon and stars; that there was daylight, even day and night before there was a sun; and that plants were created before there was a sun to sustain them. It tells us, or seems to tell us, that God created every living thing just as we now know know them. Some scholars even say that the first creation story says that the earth itself was pre-existing and uncreated.

How did Creation come into existence?

With the exception of mankind, we are only told what God made, not how He made it. That fact is in order to stress mankind's importance.

To make man, God fashioned the appropriate shape from dirt and breathed a soul into it (Genesis ch.2). He then made the first woman by fashioning her from a piece of the man's flesh (ibid).

Day by day, God created the universe and its contents (Genesis ch.1).God created the universe out of nothing (Exodus 20:11, Isaiah 40:28; Rashi commentary to Genesis 1:14; Maimonides' "Guide," 2:30).Note that the Torah, in describing the Creation, deliberately employs brevity and ellipsis, just as it does in many other topics. See the Talmud, Hagigah 11b. And: How many Creation-narratives are there in Genesis?

  • On day 1: God created the universe in general, light, and this Earth. The light was not the same as that of the sun. Rather, it was light that God created before the sun, and which emanated from a point in space without any physical source; like what we might term a "white hole."
  • On day 2: God created the separation between the Earth and the upper atmosphere.
  • On day 3: God separated the continents from the oceans, and created plants.
  • On day 4: God created the sun, moon, and stars.
  • On day 5: God created birds and fish.
  • On day 6: God created animals and people.
  • On day 7: God ceased creating, thereby creating the concept of rest.

What does creation tell you?

So many have looked at Creation, but come up with so many, and contradictory, answers, that there must be a danger in hearing what one wants to hear, and seeing what one wants to see. Perhaps Creation is so rich and glorious that each of us only sees a small part. The solution might be, as with one's fellow humans, to approach it with an open mind and a loving heart, and perhaps the answer that fills your needs will present itself to you.

What is a truth that the first creation story reveals to us?

Because there are two different creation stories in Genesis (Gen 1:1-2:4a and 2:4b-25) and because they differ so absolutely, for example in the order of creation, limits to God's powers and the role he gave humans as stewards of the earth, neither story can be regarded as truth in the absolute sense.

As believers, we can say that the story reveals truths such as that man was created in God's image. Or we can say that the first creation story, with its opposition to the second creation story, defines the Book of Genesis. It reveals it to be a collection of ancient myths and legends that do not always harmonise well, one with the other.

What truths about creation are revealed in the first creation story?

Religious truths may or may not be scientific truths. The most important religious truth in the first creation story is that God effortlessly spoke things into existence in just six days. Compare this to the second creation story, where God's powers are more limited and he could not make living things out of nothing, needing to model them in dirt. As for whether creation of the world itself was from nothing, ex nihilo, many experts in Hebrew have carefully examined the text in Genesis 1:1-2 and agree that the earth was pre-existing.

Yair Zakovitch, Dean of Humanities at Hebrew University, in discussing this passage describes a very important religious truth that is almost invariably overlooked, "The thing to remember about the Bible is that the events and characters are just vehicles to convey messages. The biblical narrative was written to educate our young nation, not so much to tell us what really happened."

Why is creationism considered pseudoscience?

Creationism is considered a Pseudoscience because it is impossible to prove that a divine being created a world, because we cannot study divine beings. Science only deals with things that can be observed and reported, and is based on facts, not beliefs.

What is the evolution theory of the creation of the universe?

Evolution does not concern the origin of the universe. Evolution is a theory concerning the origin of species--diverse biological organisms--via mechanisms of inheritance with modification.

The origin of the universe is best dealt with by the Big Bang theory.

Creation of the sky and sea?

According to many creation myths, the sky and sea were formed when a primordial deity or force separated the waters of chaos to create distinct realms. In some cultures, these elements were personified as gods or goddesses responsible for their creation and maintenance. The sky and sea often represent fundamental aspects of the cosmos and are deeply intertwined in many belief systems.

Summary of the creation story from luzon?

When the world first began there was no land, but only the sea and the sky, and between them was a kite (a bird something like a hawk). One day the bird which had nowhere to light grew tired of flying about, so she stirred up the sea until it threw its waters against the sky. The sky, in order to restrain the sea, showered upon it many islands until it could no longer rise, but ran back and forth. Then the sky ordered the kite to light on one of the islands to build her nest, and to leave the sea and the sky in peace. Now at this time the land breeze and the sea breeze were married, and they had a child which was a bamboo. One day when this bamboo was floating about on the water, it struck the feet of the kite which was on the beach. The bird, angry that anything should strike it, pecked at the bamboo, and out of one section came a man and from the other a woman. Then the earthquake called on all the birds and fish to see what should be done with these two, and it was decided that they should marry. Many children were born to the couple, and from them came all the different races of people. After a while the parents grew very tired of having so many idle and useless children around, and they wished to be rid of them, but they knew of no place to send them to. Time went on and the children became so numerous that the parents enjoyed no peace. One day, in desperation, the father seized a stick and began beating them on all sides. This so frightened the children that they flee in different directions, seeking hidden rooms in the house -- some concealed themselves in the walls, some ran outside, while others hid in the fireplace, and several fled to the sea. Now it happened that those who went into the hidden rooms of the house later became the chiefs of the islands; and those who concealed themselves in the walls became slaves. Those who ran outside were free men; and those who hid in the fireplace became Negroes; while those who fled to the sea were gone many years, and when their children came back they were the white people.

What evidence is there against creationism?

Scientists generally have no argument with the notion of creation, as long as it does not conflict with known scientific facts. However, creationism is a dogmatic religious belief that insists that science is wrong and that the earth was created exactly as its proponents believe the Bible literally says it was.

The Bible itself is the greatest enemy of these creationists. First of all, there are two, incompatible creation stories in Genesis, at 1:1-2:4a and at 2:4b-20. Creationists ought to decide which creation story it is that they support - the first one, which states that man, both male and female, was created last of all living things, or the second story that says that Adam was created first, then all other living things, and then Eve. Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom: Reading Genesis) says that pious readers, believing that the text cannot contain contradictions, ignore the major disjunctions between the two creation stories and tend to treat the second story as the fuller, more detailed account of the creation of man (and woman), but he says we must scrupulously avoid reading into the second story any facts or notions taken from the first (and vice versa) if we mean to understand each story on its own terms. Anything less than this can not be compared with science.

The second creation story appears to place creation some six thousand years ago, yet science has shown that the world is approximately 4.54 million years old. Some creationists accept the great age of the world, and say that the 'day' of the first creation story is really intended to mean an indefinite period, even though experts in the Hebrew language say there is no reason to interpret the text in this way. And a problem with this is that the scientific creation of the world was never so simple and linear that it could fit the creation story, no matter how interpreted.

The first creation story also suffers from the problem that creation is supposed to have occurred in an impossible sequence. As the early Church Father, Origen, had to say on this (On First Principles, 3.1.1): "Now what man of intelligence will believe that the first and the second and the third day, and the evening and the morning existed without the sun and moon and stars? And that the first day if we may so call it, was even without a heaven? And who is so silly as to believe that God, after the manner of a farmer, planted a paradise eastward in Eden, and set in it a visible and palpable 'tree of life' ..."

Much of the evidence against creationism is the evidence for cosmology and evolution. There is so much evidence that science has the explanation for what really happened, that creationism must remain a convenient religious discussion only.

Creation story of luzon?

According to Tagalog folklore, the creation of Luzon involved deities and supernatural beings shaping the land. One story involves the god Bathala creating the islands and the people, with the help of the serpent demigod, Ulilang Kaluluwa. Another tale tells of the giant named Bernardo Carpio pushing two mountains apart to form what is now known as the Marikina Valley.

Human is a creature?

Yes, the word 'creature' simply refers to ' ..any living being'. Even the bible says that Jesus sent his disciples out into the world and told them to teach the gospel to "..every living creature". Certainly, He was not talking about the animals, but to every human.

Is it possible to believe in the Genesis creation story and scientific explanations of the origins of the universe?

Some people believe in the Genesis creation story because that is what they were taught when they were children and they didn't progress any further.

Others have looked at the evidence of scientific explanations, which is sometimes difficult to learn, and taken that as the most likely viewpoint.

One viewpoint is stalemate, because you're not going to learn anything there.

The other viewpoint is continually learning and revising your knowledge with evidence as you progress through life.

Some, (just a few), hang on to Genesis for their peace of mind while studying the science.

Another Response:

It is certainly possible to believe the Genesis creation stories (there are two full stories, and some scholars say there are three), while accepting scientific explanations of the origin of the universe. The two approaches address completely different questions and do not need to be confused.

Science addresses the question, "How?" The various areas of physics examine how particles and forces such as gravity act and react throughout time and space so that the stars and galaxies, elements and species came to have the forms and qualities that we observe.

The stories in the Scriptures address the question, "Why?" The creation stories in Genesis tell us that we are related to a great Being that we call God, who is also involved with the totality of the universe and with the world in which we live. This God cares for us, knows us intimately and wants to have a connection with us.

It might help to consider a parallel question, "What is love?" Science can tell us a great deal about the attraction of male to female and all the details of fertilization of ovum by sperm, about the hormones that stimulate nurturing activity in a mother toward her child, and about the societal connections that create a family. But we need other areas of knowledge such as literature and the arts to tell us about romance, commitment, devotion, sorrow and joy. Both are true in their own area. Understanding and acceptance of one does not exclude understanding and acceptance of the other.

The heat left over from the beginning of the universe?

The heat left over from the beginning of the universe is known as the cosmic microwave background radiation. It is a faint glow of radiation that permeates the entire universe and is a remnant of the Big Bang. This radiation provides important clues about the early universe and the formation of galaxies.

What was Gods last message to creation?

No last message or first message. Ever giving message to us as we live the life. It's our responsibility to be alert and receive the same.

How do Christians view the creation of the universe?

As a Christian, I have to think long and hard about the deepest meaning of creation. I used to believe there was a celestial protocol: a governing law, that had an eternal proposition.

This proposition is demonic, however. It puts sin within an agent, which is not its ultimate fate, as sin needs no agent. The idea of one side over another, is ridiculous because of forgiveness. The full power of forgiveness gives rise to balancing all of the equation. The equation is the problem of problems., the test of tests. I remind you, King of Kings.

Our lives are supposed to be a journey to the best we can be, whether it leads to us suffering by ourselves, or a lack of. Any journey is a test. That means the best you can be is a potential, no more, and only the trinity and all of heaven knows the outcome. Free will has never been the important part: it is surrendering our will at the and to the cross, giving your mind, body and soul to the most forgiving: Jesus Christ. All should stick to the cross. Resistance is to be forgiven. Every evil doing agent is to be forgiven. Sin is evil, obviously. It has no name, no vessel, no host, no manifest. It belongs in the well of despair, as despair is the ultimate sin. Giving up on anything starts with the sin of not trying your best. That means you are forsaken, because you are not forsaken if you do try your best. Giving your best is another way of saying "I will only do what Jesus would do."

Ultimately, I view creation as not a test of what is the potential (perception of best it can be),but what God sees fit to be perfect. He does not sin, nor do others now in heaven. His most devout, will receive more and more tests, until they reach a state of such virtue, they will achieve Zenith: a sinless state, which can only be accessed by the two most devout joining into one entity: one body, two souls: symbiotic joining. It has the strictest date, and it will happen.

Perfect conditions for the beginning of time to be started by something timeless.

Perfect conditions for heaven and earth.

Perfect conditions for the coming of Christ.

Who was the man who slept for 18000 years and then created the universe?

What did GOD do on the ninth day?

In Christian and Jewish teachings, God is believed to have created the firmament, separating the waters above from the waters below on the second day, not the ninth day. On the ninth day, God rested from His work of creation, according to the Bible in Genesis.

Which day did God create the sun and moon?

Since the sun and moon are included in "the heavens" mentioned in Genesis 1:1, they were created long before Day Four. On the fourth day God proceeded to "make" these celestial bodies occupy a new relationship toward earth's surface and the expanse above it. When it is said, "God put them in the expanse of the heavens to shine upon the earth," this would indicate that they now became discernible from the surface of the earth, as though they were in the expanse
