Rooster How old must a rooster be before it starts crowing?
We have two that share the same hatch date. One started crowing around 5 months old. The other not until almost 8 months old. I suppose there is a standard, but my roosters were to stubborn to follow it.

It is the roosters job to protect the flock. They are the first line of defense when a potential predator comes along and YOU are a potential predator. He will do his best to scare you off or at least give you a "victim" to eat while the hens run and hide.
It is possible for humans to eat crows but it is not very common. many people do soot/kill them but do not eat them.

When I saw that clumsy crow, it was awkwardly flapping its wings, trying to land on a branch but missing multiple times. Its antics were both amusing and endearing, as it hopped around on the ground, pecking at bits of food. Despite its clumsiness, there was something charming about its determination. In that moment, I couldn't help but smile at the little creature's efforts.
