I have bipolar disorder and unfortunatly there is no cure, but it can be managed, with the right medication there is no reason why a person with biploar cant live a happy stable life. A good sleep routine is also really important going to sleep and waking at the same time everyday can do a lot to help you stay on top of it.

What does depression feel like?
Depression, in short, is as tangible as hell gets in daily life. I've survived major episodes of depression as well as more recent dysthymia (mild depression). It involves a loss of interest in hobbies or things that normally excite oneself, a loss of sleep and ability to focus the mind, a lack of energy and activity, and apathy. To make the sickness worse, a depressed person typically feels rolling waves of guilt about being apathetic or unmotivated, sometimes even guilt for things they could not possibly have been responsible for or other types of unreal guilt (these last two are called delusional guilt). There were even several weeks where the apathy was so bad that although when I woke in the morning I consciously knew I had to get up to go to work yet could see no reason to get up at all (I could not even see a reason to call in sick) what lasted several hours, once or twice it was even so bad that the apathy did not lift enough to permit me to get up and go to work that I actually did not get to work until just before lunch!
Depression really sucks. While depressed, I had full awareness of my problem but no hope than any solution existed and often didn't care if there was one or not. (This is why professional intervention is needed to solve depression!) You can be depressed without the severe side effects as well and feel as bad for a period of time, usually reacting to life's crap. It feels like Your soul is dead or dying. You may want to die and even develop a suicide plan, some attempt suicide.

Of Course! In it's more mild forms Bipolar disorder is hardly even noticeable. Especially with treatment. Even the more severe Bipolar 1 Disorder is not so bad with treatment. I'm going to assume that you are asking this question partly based on the idea that Bipolar Disorder is genetic. The Nazi's and some other countries euthanized Bipolar people (prevented them from having kids via surgical methods). If you are more accepting than a Nazi you should have no problem with Bipolar people getting married to whomever they wish. It turns out that Bipolar disorder is only partially genetic. It is largely based on the environment that people live/grow up in. For example: There are two 100% genetically identical twins. One of them is diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. Statistics show that, even though they are 100% genetically identical, there is only about a 50% chance of the other twin being Bipolar. It is not just about genetics.
They talk normal? We are normal people too, we just have an illness. If a person being depressed is in a bad mood, they probably talk little and keep to themselves.
