What happened to Top Flite Kite company?

This is not a complete answer, but it might help a researcher. TopFlite kites were made by the Crunden-Martin Manufacturing Company of St. Louis. So the fate of Crunden Martin is really what needs to be discovered. The best I've been able to find is that the firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 1990, but whether they came out of it or were purchased or liquidated I simply don't know.

What robot Toy series am I looking for see below?

Any help would be very appreciated. I am looking for a toy series that came out sometime before 2003 but after 1995. I was little so I am weary of the details

The series was of several robot figures with a metal core. Each figure had it's own special weapons that were interchangeable between other figures via a toy screwdriver. The one I remember having was a purple samurai like robot with a sword for an arm. This series was not popular so anything like Transformers/power rangers/gundam/etc is out of the question. All I'm looking for is a name or even a clue. I've been searching for these toys for a while but with no luck. I remember it was sold in common stores like Kmart. Thank you for your help!
