How do you remove pernament marker off of metal?

If it is in the raw wood, it can be pretty much impossible. If it hasn't penetrated the finish, rubbing alcohol will remove it if it doesn't affect the finish. Test before trying!

I used hairspray and it worked REALLY well on finished wood surfaces. The initial treatment left a bit of a hue on our light-colored dresser,(the sharpie was blue) but a second lighter treatment pretty much removed all of it. I used Suave, so maybe if I used a more popular and expensive brand, it would have worked the first time...HAHAHA.....this method also works well on ball-point pen ink. Try to remember to go WITH the grain while using this method.

Your best bet with any surface like this is a product recommended by Sharpie in its FAQ: Amodex Ink and Stain Remover. It's a liquid soap that specializes in removing ink from clothes, so less pourous items like tables and counters (and skin, believe it or not) are easily cleaned by it. All you need to do is pour a little of the Amodex on the stain, let it sit for a moment, and then wipe the soap away.

If a wooden table stain is really set in there, just let the Amodex sit for a longer period of time, and/or use repeat applications. Eventually, even the toughest Sharpie stains should come out.

How do i Remove rust stains from a dishwasher?

Put in "No More Yellow" (not yellow out) into the dishwasher and run it through a cycle. (empty, of course). Then run the dishwasher at least once more to clean out any existing residue. No More yellow is toxic, but as long as you put the dishwasher through a full cycle once again, it will be fine. It is also the best I have found for getting rust out of clothes.

The drain hose will have a small, plastic pump, which sometimes jam because of coins, lint, buttons etc. It happened on mine and I was able to take a cover off the side of the pump and clean it out.

Why can't you put dish washing soap in the dishwasher?

Dish liquid is designed to generate a lot of suds. A dishwasher cycle will stir up excessive suds that the machine won't be able to rinse away. Some dishwashers will stop or break down if this happens. If you're out of the regular dish washing detergent, rinse the dishes well before you put them in and then run the dishwasher without detergent. The hot water and dry cycle will sanitize dishes sufficiently. Or, put the dishes in, close the door and leave it until you can get some detergent.

Is Noritake China dishwasher safe?

While it could be washed in a dishwasher, you would have to insure that it doesn't rub against anything. The rythmic motions of the water in a dishwasher can cause things to rock back and forth, rubbing against other dishes and the racks. These will wear away the thin gold coating. I would recommend hand washing.

What was used before dishwashers were invented?

(1) They used a stream and a rock or two from the bottom of the stream and soap....

(2) Following the stream-and-stone method, the washboard was developed. The washboard required the person to scrub the material up and down over the corrugated board, as the board stood in a washtub (about the size of a standard washing machine tub).

(3) Next came the washer with double-roller. This required a person to manually insert and crank wet, soapy material between the two rollers -- somewhat easier than pounding or scrubbing, but still not an easy task.

Sorry but ONLY a portable Dish washer should/can be plugged in. the ampcity demands of a built in is higher, ( due to larger heating coil in built ins) ,you need to hard wire a built in due to fact that very few plugs are rated ot 20 amps 99 % are 15 amps and so are wires leading to plugs, too often they are 14 awg as opposed to correct 12 awg for a built in.
