How do you tighten loose door handle on ge monogram dishwasher?
Open the door. Remove the 12 screws inside the door around the perimeter. The front of the door will separate from the back- be careful to not let them spring apart. You may want to disconnect the black plastic control panel wire harnesses inside the door so you don't risk damaging any wires. Affixing the handle to the door is two 3/8 hex heads. Remove both screws. My handle felt loose because there is a Allen head screw inside the handle post that was loose. Needs to be tightened through the 3/8 hex thread hole with a small SAE Allen size. Reverse order for putting door back together.
How do you get Kenmore Elite dishwasher 1316 out of demo mode?

What is a dishwasher phosphate alternative?
The phosphates kept ions like calcium from attaching to your dishes. A good alternative is to pour a few tablespoons of white vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher prior to starting it. Citric acid is another alternative but it is easier to find the white vinegar.
What problems does hard water cause?
What problems does hard water cause? If you wash clothes with hard water they will often look scratchy or feel very harsh. Often if you bathe with soap and hard water you will have a sticky film of soap left on you. If you wash dishes mainly in a dishwasher with hard water you will have spotting or a film on your dishes or cooking utensils. Some things that are convenient about hard water is that it works just fine for watering your garden, washing or rinsing you driveway, and it is fine for most outdoor lawn care things.
What can go in the dishwasher?
Generally speaking, anything non-porous can go in the dishwasher. HOWEVER -
This question is better answered by referencing what should NOT go in the dishwasher:
Wood (in whole or part of the item)
Cast Iron
Aluminum
Knives
Crystal
Gold or anything with Gold trim
Synthetics meant to be disposable (plastic or foam cups and plates, etc)
Anything manufactured before 1960 (i.e. before dishwashers became popular)
The above mentioned items either absorb everything they're exposed to, are too fragile, or will tarnish or break when exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, and chemicals for any length of time.
People like to argue about cookware. The truth is though it washes up just fine, the non stick coatings most pots and pans have will last a lot longer if washed by hand.
Plastics meant to be reused are typically ok, but only on the top rack.
Your very safest bet is - if you have to wonder if it's safe or not - hand wash.
How do you replace motor pump in Kitchen aid dishwasher?
They're not that hard. Pull the washer out and it's on the bottom of the tub. I can replace one in under 5 minutes. You may want to check if it's plugged with food, rag, or what have you before you replace it.
Get all your ducks in a row first, find the parts you think you will need (close to home) and rip it apart and see what the problem is. Some parts may be under warrant, but they're cheap so just fix it in one day.
I agree with the previous post. It's not that hard. No problem for a reasonably competent do-it-yourselfer.
Turn the breaker off. Remove the racks. Remove the washer arm assembly noting which way you had to unscrew things. Might be left hand. I forget.
Pull washer out. I laid it down on the door side. Detach all the electrical components from the pump/motor assembly. This was easy as most all things are keyed or slotted. They can be removed and reinstalled pretty easily. The drain pump (light blue) is removed counter-clockwise. Disconnect the discharge hose (red elbow). Remove the white sump tabs last noting which direction the hook side of them face. These are the white shim-like things that hold the assembly to the tub.
Stand the unit back up. The pump/motor assembly actually is removed up into the tub compartment. Put the new one in place. I had to fully disconnect the internal feed tube that runs along the back of the tub (just tabs) to get the internal rear feed cap to fit back together into the rear internal feed tube.
Lay the unit back down on the door side. Hook the everything back up. Install the white sump tabs. Run a test cycle and hope for the best.
Possibly because some people don't often clean the filter on the bottom where many little bits of food get trapped.
What is more energy efficient a dishwasher or a sink?
The dishwasher is more efficient, undoubtedly. Washing anything by hand, unless absolutely necessary, is a waste of time, water & energy. I recommend putting just about anything in the dishwasher: plates pots pans dishes, without rinsing. Try it out, let the dishwasher show you what it can do. Pots & pans will dull, but won't otherwise change. Teflon pans will wear, you have to decide if you want the ease of the dishwasher and replace them as needed. Don't put in cast iron pans, nor Great Aunt Agatha's China unless you are sure about it. If the dishwasher is not full, most dishwashers have a rinse-only option, run that rinse-only if you don't plan to run a full cycle in the dishwasher until the next day. Washing in the sink before you run a cycle adds the problem that dishwasher-soap usage is based on dirty dishes, not clean, you could be over sudsing. If you can, run the hot water faucet before starting the dishwasher, so that the dishwasher has to expend less electrical energy to heat the water to the correct temperature for the cycle.
How many circuits for kitchen if you have dishwasher and disposal and?
You should really try to have one dedicated to your refrigerator and one dedicated to your stove/oven (if electric). I believe you will not have any issues if the dishwasher and disposal are on the same circuit.

Why does your dishwasher leave a white film?
A dishwasher repair man said that the number one cause of white film and drain line buildup is from using the gel style detergent. His comment was that this is for low temperature washers and most high temp dishwashers 'like' the powder. He mentioned that people just started buying the gel because it was "New!" and so that is why you see so much of it on the shelf now.
Here are some tips to help get your dishes clean without leaving filmy residue:Why does my 950 series frigidaire dishwasher stay in wash cycle and make a clicking noise and does not go in to rinse cycle?
