They die. If your dog is not eating, it could mean:
Take your dog to the vet with a fresh faeces sample.
What should i do if my dog is gassy?
Bring her/him to the vet. Maybe it's the quality of the food or maybe she/he ate scraps from the floor or too much treats or food. A good type of dog food i suggest is Origin. Is #1 dog food in the world. Its all natural containing no wheat which is bad for them. It has 70% protein and the meat is in the kibble was caught fresh not frozen with tons of artificial things. All the dog food in groceries stores or petsmart or petco have wheat in them and as little as 21% of protein at the most or less. You can only get origin in dog boutiques. It will be life changing for your dog.
gastorenteritis is a very dangerous condition and can actually cause death in deep chested dogs, i.e. dashchunds, greyhounds are just two off the top of my head. It cause`s what is called bloat! Try not to feed your dog large meals and not from the table. Also don`t "free feed", let them eat what they want for 10 to 15 minutes then put their food bowl up. You can give them, pepto bismol, I had one little doxie and she was always getting sour stomachs, I always called her pepto, when I said that word, and she saw that pink bottle she ran, lol. Also check with your vet, you can also give them tagemet.
Are there sprays to stop dogs from marking in house?
Not really; the marking is actually a behavioral/training issue. Hire an expert dog trainer who specializes in "positive training" to come over and teach you how to solve the problem. It should take about 1-2 weeks of consistent training with the trainer's instructions.
Why does your old dog have a strong urine smell?
two other diseases cause bad breath. Most likely, you and your veterinarian would see other signs of either of these diseases. DKA, or severe diabetes, causes a change in breath due to a change in metabolism. The other disease that can cause foul breath is kidney failure, which leads to a buildup of uremic toxins in the bloodstream. Both of these can be ruled out with routine blood screening tests.
REAL FOOD! I suggest giving homecooked food to your dogs! Enough with the junk meat in gravy trash or brown dog biscuits that's called DOG FOOD! Try mixing boiled rice with some chicken and broccoli or carrots and make a balanced amount of however much your dog eats and see if your dog eats happier. I read in a dog behavior book that said: "Before hiring a dog trainer, try changing your dog's diet. Why not give it some fresh rice, meat and veggies for one month and see if its behavior is more spirited?" Well, come on! MY dog is the pickiest eater, and SHE KNOWS the difference between fresh meat and fake! WE once bought some canned beef and she didn't touch it. She now continues to live happy and joyful eating real food, enjoying her meals and eager for the next one to come. So please even try it for a week and see for yourself! Dogs in the wild never ate smelly dry kibble or canned lamb in 75% water! Why is your dog getting cancer? MAybe it's all the preservatives in its food! So please, I'm not trying to shove guilt into dog owner's faces that feed their dogs dry dog food or canned food, but simply trying to make a point! Homecooked food is surely 100% guaranteed the most healthy life-preserving dog food under the sun!
Can use human clippers be used on dogs?
You could cut a small dogs nails with human nail clippers. Larger dogs nails would not fit inside the clipper so it wouldn't work. It is better to buy a set of clippers made for dogs though. They are made specifically for dogs nails and will work better.
How long can a dog stay in boarding kennel?
Every dog is different, but in my experience as a boarding facility owner we aim for a max of 2 weeks give or take. Some can go months...never tried it.
Dogs can be boarded for months is just depends on the dogs. A kennel owner has to be able to tell when a dog is beginning to lose is. Some never do. My kennel has monthly rates for dog boarding.
Most use quality ingredients that are safe for human consumption. The flavor is tested by human tasters. The ingredients are tested for contamination before they are used, then the food is tested again after it is made and packaged.
Most likely it contains a certain amount of DEET, which could be harmful to your pet. (I'm not too sure it's really all that good for humans.)
Your best defense would be to have your canine friend tested for heartworms and if clear, put on a monthly treatment like HeartGard.
Then use a flea and tick treatment (many are monthly) to protect your dog against other insects that can cause problems.
That's usually enough to get 'em through the year without too many problems.
If you dog has been sprayed with DEET, then probably a bath should be considered.
Since I'm not a vet, I'd really suggest that you call a local veterinarian and just ask. They should be able to tell you what's safe and what isn't. It only takes a few minutes to be sure and it could save your dog's life.
Can you use frontline for cats on your small dog?
Frontline, Revolution and Advantage can all be safely used on cats and dogs interchangeably, as the ingredients are identical, you just need to know the correct doses.
Frontline Plus for Dogs contains (fipronil 9.8% and S-methoprene 8.8%)
whereas
Frontline Plus for Cats contains (fipronil 9.8% and S-methoprene 11.8%)
Dogs are given a dose of 0.067ml of Frontline solution per kilogram of bodyweight.
So a 10.0kg dogs need a dose of 0.67ml
an 6.0kg dog only really needs 0.40ml
ALL cats are given a set dose of 0.50ml
The Frontline Plus for cats formula contains exactly the same concentration of Fipronil (the main ingredient which kills fleas, ticks, and lice) as the Frontline Plus for dogs formula.
The only difference is the cat version contains 3% MORE of the ingredient methoprene than the dog formula.
Giving your dog a tiny 3% more methoprene will not harm it. Look up the toxixity of methoprene online for yourself and see.
Methoprene simply acts as a juvenile hormone analogue in fleas, it keeps the fleas "young". The flea larvae are prevented from completing the metamorphosis into adults and subsequently die.
Note: Not all dog and cat medications are interchangeable. You could poison your pet if you don't do your research first.

It depends on the age of the puppy. But if i were you i wouldn't put flea treatment on them until they are at least 8 weeks of age. I use frontline plus on all of my dogs and cats.

Best is the way to repel dogs?
Why would you ever want to repel a dog?! If anything, help it find it's owner.
How do you feed a week old puppy?
At six weeks old, the puppy should be well ready for regular food, they love good quality canned food, and dry dog food intended for puppys (smaller pieces) is also good. I normally start feeding them at three weeks so that when "mom" is tired of them, they are used to having regular food. Even at three weeks they take quite rapidly to canned food, and dry food a little later. If you plan to use mainly dry food, I suggest giving them less and less canned food slowly and make sure there is always plenty of dry food available, out for them, and they will eat it when they get hungry. By ten weeks, they should be entirely on dry if that is what you want to feed. I have to admit that I am a 'sucker" for my dogs, and always give them a mixture of canned and dry. I make the canned feeding an"event" by handing each of them the bites on a fork as I call their names (this helps to teach them their name), and then leave dry food for them to have as they are ready for it. They won't overeat on dry, but will eat just about all the canned they can get hold of, so be careful with that.
Breeds that shed are like humans that shed their hair every single day. A good brushing every single day will help to curb some of the shedding. Also use Oatmeal based dog shampoos (easy on their skin and leave a good shine to their coats) and only use a medium to low heat if you are blow drying your dog. If your home is warm enough towel dry your dog and let the air dry their skin and give it a rest from any blow drying. If this doesn't do the trick then please see your vet as your pet's diet may have to be changed. Dachshunds are known to get allergies and are very sensitive to certain brands of dog food.

What brand of dog food is best for your pregnant dog?
Try feeding her as much as she wants, as she will have more little mouths to feed inside her! A good quality puppy food with good meat sources and high meat content (Chicken, Turkey, Beef etc as the first or first couple of ingredients) is best during both pregnancy and lactation (feeding pups). It is advised to feed her as much as she needs.
Your dog may need extra calcium while lactating. Please ask a vet about this first, however, as this can differ with each breed. If needed, you can add a little bit of fat-free cottage cheese or other foods high in calcium to her food every day (about 2/3 of a cup per 1 1/2 to 2 cups of food). Your vet may also suggest ground-up calcium, DO NOT attempt this yourself, wait until he gives you a specific amount.
Give her nice, clean, FILTERED water (change every day).
Instead of feeding your dog not-so-good-for-her-or-the-upcoming-pups manufactured treats, keep her healthy by giving her all natural treats. Give her raw, cut up meat and possibly a few veggies. Most dogs love: carrots, apples broccoli, mangoes, honey dew melon and more. Oily fish or an egg given once a week are also very healthy treats that most dogs love.
WARNING: Research all human foods before giving them to your dogs. Some you may think would be harmless, like grapes. But grapes and raisins are poisonous to dogs!
Intestinal gas or flatulence is the result of the dog's digestive processes and intestinal microbial population breaking down food. Like any chemical reaction this process can release various side products depending on what the initial reactants are. Some foods (starches and sugars) release more gases. Other foods containing sulfurous compounds (eggs, garlic)
can release gases containing odorous mercaptans and sulfides. Remember a dog is essentially a carnivore and its digestive system is oriented towards processing proteins. Starches, sugars and other materials create problems
You have to be a bit scientific here. Keep track of what your dog eats and the levels of gas he releases. This should identify what you should or shouldn't feed him to give a bit of relief
Answer:
Funny question... but serious situation!
The level of awful smell that spreads in the air should raise an eyebrow of interest, but your questions should be iaboutyour dog's health!!!. When a dog pass (produce) gas it is aresult of the food they eat. You may have to change your dog's present diet, it will take from 3-6 days for your dog's body system to adjust to the new food. Dogs don't need the salts, garlics, or seasoning in table foods or fast foods.
What is the proper pH of dog shampoo?
A dog's pH varies from 6.2 to 8.62 depending on the breed. It is best to make sure of this, and if your pet has pre-existing skin problems. Most dog shampoos indicate pH level on the label; if it doesn't try calling the manufacturer to be certain. You'll be glad you did.

Rawhide is the skin of animals, usually cattle, that has not been exposed to the tanning process. After the skin has been scraped free of hair and flesh, it is stretched on frames and dried until it is fairly hard. This is the material for rawhide "treats" that are often fed to dogs, although some canines have trouble digesting these items.
