it means absolutely nothing, unless that is your dog bit you while you were asleep then you have yourself a problem.
Take a look at it, is it clean? wash it off, remove any dried feces, some longer haired dogs get this and need washed there from time to time. you dog could have had diarehha you may not have know it and now some of it has dried up there, I know it sounds awful but you need to take a look.
How do you get your dog to stop biting the furniture?
First of all tell your dog "NO" in a firm deep voice when you catch him or her chewing on the furniture. Give your dog something else to chew on, such as nylabones or other hard toys that are safe for dogs. Also keep him busy, make sure to take your dog on a daily walk of at least 20 minutes, 45 minutes is best. Make it a nice fast paced walk. Walk your dog on a leash & choke chain only, never let your dog off the leash while taking walks. Go to a local Obedience school. Ask your Veterinarian or the local Animal Shelter where the obedience classes are. Find your local all breed dog club and join. They will offer lots of things to do with your dog. It will be fun for both you and your dog. Also you can get products like the furnature spray at petsmart that gets you're dog to stop chewing the furnature by making the item taste bad and will effectively stop the chewing
Do dogs respond better to commands with treats or without?
Most dogs react better with a treat because to them this is praise. They understand 'Good Dog' and "Bad Dog" but they still get confused. By giving them a treat for praise, they realize they are doing something good and right. If they don't get a treat, they realize they didn't do it right or did something wrong.
How do you train the dog to behave the house?
House training may be done many ways. A common way is to put newspapers or pads on the ground and encourage the dog to relieve themselves on those and slowly moving whatever you use closer and closer to outside (or wherever you want the dog to go to the bathroom).
It is also good practice to take the dog out at least 3 times a day, usually about an hour after the dog has eaten, and praising him or her when they go to the bathroom outside.
What education do you need to be a dog trainer?
Another optionThe above answer is acurate in that hands on it the best way to learn. I myself became a professional dog trainer through an on-site school for professional dog trainers. It is the largest facility of its kind in the country, and offers an excellent program. They are also offering online courses starting in January 09 that will be a lot more interactive than the competitors.www.schoolfordogtrainers.com

How do you stop dog nose smears on glass?

How do you teach your puppy not to steal?
Puppies are naturally curious and mouthy. They pick things up to investigate them and they examine them by feeling them with their mouths. Remember that puppies don't see as well as we do. They start by smelling, then by touching, when they examine something new. To stop stealing, try teaching the trading game. Keep something your puppy really likes in your pockets at all times. It might be his favorite treats, a toy, or a chewie. When you see he has something you don't want him to play with, offer to trade what you have for what he has. Dogs nearly always believe that what you have is going to be better and will willingly trade. Over time, he will learn that bringing you items gives him an opportunity to trade. At least you won't be playing keep-away with him to get your belongings back. Once your pup discovers something he shouldn't play with, put it where he can't reach it until he's older. If you can establish what can be played with while he is young, and keep appropriate toys available for him for play so he won't get bored, he'll never develop the habit of playing with your stuff. Just stick with it until he has all of his adult teeth and his drive to chew starts to decrease (usually by one year old).

How do you potty train your 3 month old Jack Russel?
Potty training should be affective in any age. I have trained a deaf, blind 17 year old western terrier (very stubburn breed) I strongly suggest a doggy door. The most importent thing in potty training is. DON'T SCOLD! The dog will get the wrong idea, thinking that you are scolding it for using the bathroom, and try to hide it in an area- often in the house. Instead after feeding it (make sure to have feeding scheduals) take it out and wait until it uses the bathroom. When it does, praise very much and give it a treat. This simple method will take a while.
Will 106 volts kill a small dog?
maybe depending on the amp's because amp's is how powerful the current is.
house breaking a puppy is very fun here's how keep the puppy stuff in the same place every time let her learn basic commands like "good girl!", "dinner", "lunch", "breakfast", "good job", "biscuit's your puppy does something you don't like spray her with cold water
give her a treat when you think shes done something praise worthy.
these are simple commands " no ", "yes" , "fetch", "sit or sit down" show your puppy around the house so she gets familiar with it. show her where she can and cant go
now for walks make routes for walks if your puppy gets lost she will need routes to be familiar with if your puppy gets into stuff don't let that become a habit.
don't let her become to independent or dependent I guarantee it will become a problem also if you give your dog enough exercise she wont dig holes.
at 2-3 months old your puppy will need a daily routine when she will eat and what time
( usually morning ) early afternoon and obviously evening.
teach her where her bed is also what time she needs to go to bed what time she gets up and where she goes to the bathroom. if the dog is small enough get a litter box, and where her chew toys are. also what routes she will be taken in walks.
if you have a grooming table teach her what it is and the positions.
i mean, if your mother consents to it then yes you can hump your mother

How do you get your puppy to stop peeing on the other dogs bed?
Answer
Maybe they have too big of a space to be in. So they don't have to lay in their urine. You should try putting them into a smaller place. Maybe try a small burrow bed.
How long can a new 8 week old puppy go at night in his crate?
Puppies can be in their crates all night. Just make sure you let them out to go to the bathroom right before you go to sleep and as soon as you wake up in the morning.
You should get a crate that is just large enough for the puppy. If you want to buy a large crate because your dog will get bigger, then stick a box or some kind of separator in the back of the crate to make it smaller. This makes it so that the dog will not want to go to the bathroom in its bed.
How do you train a dog to use the bathroom outside?
Also, keep in mind that a dog will do it's business as far away from it's food and water sources as possible. I've raised 6 or 7 litters of pups in the past 10 years (all large litters of 8 or more pups each). If it was cold and I wasn't able to keep them outside when they were old enough, I always laid newspapers down everywhere in my house where the pups could roam (started doing this as soon as the pups were old enough to get around on their own). Not a pretty sight, but protected my carpets! As the pups grew, they defecated anywhere, but always on the newspaper (because that's all they could see on the floor). As they grew older, they would defecate further and further away from where they ate and slept and generally in one location (on the newspaper). As they traveled further and further away from where they ate and slept, I would take up the newspaper except for the one location where they chose to do their business 99% of the time (accidents always happen). Pretty soon, they all were defecating in only 1 place and only on the newspaper. Not much effort at all for them to learn this. Pretty soon, they were old enough to go outside on their own, and liked it, so no problem training them to go outside to do their business. Helps, too, if you have an older dog or mom/dad to help them learn. With pups, you have to take them outside EVERY time (and as soon as) they wake up, eat, etc. The more often, the better. Their bladders just aren't big enough to hold it for very long! I don't believe in rubbing their noses in it, spanking them, then taking them outside. This seems to teach them it's not OK to poo/pee (not sure they get the not-in-the-house part)! Similar to physically disciplining your dog when it comes home after getting loose...you could actually be teaching your pup that it isn't OK to come home?? Take the pad and place it outside. take the dog outside frequently to use the pad. over time remove the pad.
Yellow Labs and other colors as well live anywhere, Labs can adjust to any climate , weather its cold, its hot but if its hot, just take them to bath everyday (but use shampoo once a week only), because we have pool in our house, I'm from the Philippines, when its a hot day (everyday), my Lab dips in the pool for maybe 3 times or 4. Labs can adapt anywhere, just wash them when your in a hot climate.
Could your female dog die if she is peeing and pooping blood?
Yes, but this is a medical emergency and your puppies need veterinarian attention immediately. This is likely a severe parvovirus infection and your puppies will be very sick for a while until they clear the virus. Treatment is intensive and expensive as well, so be prepared for the cost associated with that.
What kind of dog does not bite or bark?
The only kinds of dogs that don't are the stuffed toy dogs.
There are dogs called "barkless", for example the Basenji, but they really do bark, just differently. Barking can be controlled with positive reinforcement training like other obedience skills, and by letting them know by your actions and the focus of your attention, that you are on the job and protecting the house (or car or child or whatever) whenever there is a loud strange sound or other bark-provoking situation.
They will only raise a ruckus if it looks like no one else is minding the store. If you let them think that, you will be turning over the leadership of the pack to them, you will no longer be the alpha dog in charge, and that is a very slippery slope. Keeping yourself looking strong and clearly in charge by your body language and reactions to situations, will also make them relax and behave, knowing you've got it covered.
As for biting, any dog will bite if they are not trained not to, it is a part of puppy play that they need. The play teaches them how hard is too hard during the socialization process (best in first ten weeks of life) with their litter mates and other pack members. If they do not learn this as puppies, then re-training later is more difficult, although a necessary part of any obedience training.
Any time a puppy even touches teeth to human skin, the human should squeal just like another dog would if bitten by the puppy. Watch a mother dog when her puppies bite her ear or pull her tail, she overreacts and they learn that is not something to do, or they learn from her response with her teeth how hard is right for "Gotcha!" play. You should squeal like it really hurts, even if you barely feel it, if teeth touch skin.
Having dogs who behave like you want them to is a result of training, which all companion dogs and dog owners should have. Except in dogs bred specifically for the guarding traits, these behaviors are learned, they are not breed specific.

How hard are westies to potty train?
They are intelligent and love learning tricks. On housebreaking, Westies can go either way --- some are relatively easy while others are difficult. Remember, tiny dogs have tiny bladders -- so any small-breed puppy WILL take longer to housebreak than a larger breed.
Terriers, including Westies, can sometimes be stubborn -- it's not that they aren't intelligent, just that during training you have to keep things interesting for them because they get bored easily and when they do --- that's when they become stubborn.
For a first-time trainer or first-time dog owner I would not recommend a terrier of any type. I love terriers and have trained many, but terriers are NOT for everyone. First-timers can have a particularly hard time with that dynamic terrier temperament.
Where do search and rescue dogs work?
They work where they are needed. Search and rescue dogs are trained to handle many kinds of transportation and can even be transported by helicopter and raised and lowered in harnesses. In a disaster, SAR (Search And Rescue) dogs go where they are needed, anywhere in the world.
Some are specially trained to find and recover people buried in avalanches. Others do the same for people buried in the rubble of collapsed buildings. Some find missing people lost in deserts or wilderness. Some detect bodies of missing people, even when they are submerged under water.
