Really no different than training a dog. Use treats like nuts or yogurt drops or tiny little pieces of cheese (whichever your mouse like best--some don't like cheese). If you want the mouse to go across a string a couple of inches off the ground then lure the mouse with a treat and have a larger piece at the end of the string on a platform. They're not as motivated by food as some species are, though, so you might have to get it hungry by taking out its food dish for a few hours before you try to train it.

Puppies are very playful when they are young because they are very energetic. They have a bunch of bottled up energy that they HAVE to get rid of. Play is also the way that they discover their limits with people and what they can do and get away with.

Its natural for puppies to chew. They, like human babies, explore their surroundings with their mouths, and will also chew more when teething.

Lots of chew toys, and toys like the Kong you can stuff with food are good toys that hold the puppy's attention. It is ideal to teach the pup a "leave" or "drop it" command, so you can easily take things from your puppy's mouth. The best method for this is to take the object away from the puppy and give him something that is even more prized - such as his favourite toy or treat.

• First of all keep in mind that wee wee pads may be confusing to your puppy if you want him to go potty outside. Puppies are not always going to know the difference between appropriate papers on the floor and the newspaper that you have not finished reading. Potty training requires consistency. After napping eating or drinking the pup should be taken to the appropriate place. There should be no playtime at that place until they have gone to the bathroom. As soon as they urinnate or defecate they should be praised excessively and given a small treat. If they havent gone in a few minutes they should be brought in and placed in their crate if they cannot be watched constently. If they have made a mistake in they house you can wipe it up with a paper towel and plave the paper towel or stool in the place where you want them to go for your next attempt. Puppies should go out often and praised each time they go potty in the correct area. It is not appropriate to punish your puppy for making a mistake in the house. If cought in the act you may distract them with a sharp noise and take them right outside. • When you see your pup beginning to do the circle peepee dance, gently say no no no. Go to the pup and pick him up and place him on the pad and give him a little pat on the head. You already know he has to go, so if he tries to leave the pad, pick him up and put him back. Keep doing this until he gets the hint and goes. If you get tired after the 8th time, let him walk away. Now if he does the peepee dance again, do your part again. Consistency is the key, not to mention patience on your part. Remember never yell.....I can't stress this enough. Yelling alone can scare the pup and make them pee.

They do what comes naturally, and also, when they smell each others behinds it's a way of identification and a quick run-down on the dogs personality traits. However, it isn't the best thing for pet owners to have to put up with. I have a female Bichon Frise and a cockapoo x terrier that is male and both of them have been fixed. I basically train him not to do this. When he starts now I quickly say in a soft, but stern voice and point a finger "NO!" He stops and that's the end of that. I just had to break up a growling session between my Bichon Frise and Cockapoo last night. They simply got on each other's nerves. Once I spoke to them and send them to their beds they calmed down and all was well. Be strict, shake your finger, say 'no' in a stern voice. You are the leader of the pack and not them!

The idea of dominance is a much abused and misused one. Leadership is a more descriptive term. Leadership is established by control of resources, control of behavior, and stewardship. A common misconception is that one must eat first or go through doors first or hold one's head higher than a dog in order to rank above it. It isn't who goes through the door first that matters, but who DECIDES who goes through the door first. (That's control of behavior.) Violence is not necessary to establish pack leadership. Easy, you can't command your dog to protect you, your children, or even your house. If your dog is like mine, just love and take care of your dog like any good trainer, Owner, or Family member would. You need to make sure that your dog is in a happy home and has a family that would take care of Him/ Her with their lifes. Once you show him, He will do the same......

I'd say you could start putting a collar on puppies when they are about 5 weeks old. Maybe even sooner. Just to be safe though don't give them a tag until 7 or 8 weeks.

Take a look at it, is it clean? wash it off, remove any dried feces, some longer haired dogs get this and need washed there from time to time. you dog could have had diarehha you may not have know it and now some of it has dried up there, I know it sounds awful but you need to take a look.

First of all tell your dog "NO" in a firm deep voice when you catch him or her chewing on the furniture. Give your dog something else to chew on, such as nylabones or other hard toys that are safe for dogs. Walk your dog on a leash & choke chain only, never let your dog off the leash while taking walks. Go to a local Obedience school. Ask your Veterinarian or the local Animal Shelter where the obedience classes are. Find your local all breed dog club and join. They will offer lots of things to do with your dog. It will be fun for both you and your dog. Also you can get products like the furnature spray at petsmart that gets you're dog to stop chewing the furnature by making the item taste bad and will effectively stop the chewing

Most dogs react better with a treat because to them this is praise. They understand 'Good Dog' and "Bad Dog" but they still get confused. By giving them a treat for praise, they realize they are doing something good and right. If they don't get a treat, they realize they didn't do it right or did something wrong.

House training may be done many ways. A common way is to put newspapers or pads on the ground and encourage the dog to relieve themselves on those and slowly moving whatever you use closer and closer to outside (or wherever you want the dog to go to the bathroom).

It is also good practice to take the dog out at least 3 times a day, usually about an hour after the dog has eaten, and praising him or her when they go to the bathroom outside.
