Does your cat like you or do you like your cat?

Answer: It is more like you enjoy the companionship of each other. However, it is your responsibility to provide the cat's food and a nice environment.

Answer: You own them because you've paid for them, or, at the very least, provide shelter and food for them; and since they are your responsibility, they are your cat.

What kind of food does a kitten eat?

A kitten gets fed from their mom, for the first 6-8 weeks.

High quality kitten food is best. As long as the food has plenty of meat in it and no cereals, grains or corn in. For young kittens, soft food will be easier for them to eat.

Kittens are constantly growing and developing, so they need all the nutrients they can get. Typically, a kitten will need twice as much protein as an adult cat, so it is usually best to feed the kitten as much as it needs until it is around a year old.

Does a calico cat shed?

No, not all cats shed. Cornish Rex and Sphynx do not...

Are Burmese cats good apartment pets?

I've read mixed things regarding burmillas as an indoor cat. Seems about 50/50. I have a burmilla who is an apartment cat - as I'd read they were good indoor cats - and I'd say he is quite high energy and you need a good amount of space still. He has a tall scratch post and a LOT of toys. We also trained him to be on a lead and he will go for 'walks' which he LOVES. He will sit by the front door crying and purrs as soon as he sees his lead. He goes in the car too. I do feel bad sometimes as I think he would really love to be outdoors more. I think possibly it depends on the individual cats temperment.

Are Bengal cats social?

Do male cats make better pets than female cats?

yes it's a territory thing!

Another Answer

How much a cat urinates depends on what it is fed, and how much water it drinks. Gender has no factor.

An intact (not neutered) male cat will spray as many surfaces as possible to mark out territory and to attract a female. Unspayed female cats do this also to some extent. Neutered cats, female or male, do not urinate more than the other.

What colour kittens will a tortoiseshell and a black and white cat have?

There really isn't a set answer to this. It could be many different colours and patterns, it is always a surprise for us!

Where can you get a tabby cat from?

From a rescue shelter -- where all the best pets can be adopted into new forever homes.

Another Answer:
I rescued my cat from the streets.

My partner and I were walking when this boy, possibly no older than ten years old, approached us with a little kitten stuffed inside his hoodie/jacket. Naturally I went "awwww! Lookit the kitten!", then the boy offered to sell us the kitten for just £10. The boy seemed desperate to get rid of the kitten, and was headed for some big indutustrial-sized trash cans when we bumped into him. If we hadn't have taken the kitten, he would have ended up in one of those trash cans, or worse.

This tiny kitten was no older than eight weeks old when he was rescued. He is now just over a year old and is glowing in health and life.

If you are looking for a pet cat, then I fully agree with the first answer. There are thousands of cats that are waiting to have loving forever homes in shelters.

Is your cat a girl or boy?

No, but that's how they are regarded. You'll note that dogs have a specific reference if they are female, (b*tch) but that the males don't. You'll note that cats have a specific reference if they are male (tom), but the females don't.

What color kittens will a grey tabby and an orange tabby produce?

impossible to know just wait and see

The best prediction I can make is that they will have one orange, one silver, one mix, and another that nobody knows yet. I am sorry this is all I can say. I am sure there is a book on it though.

What color kittens do you get if you mate a male orange cat and a black female?

Siamese have pale bodies with darker colored points on the face, legs, feet and tail. All Siamese kittens are light-colored at birth and develop the pattern over time.

The color of Siamese mixed breed kittens will depend partly on the sire's breed. My Siamese had five kittens, two had the same markings as the mama cat, one pure black, and two black and white ones.

Is there a difference between Turkish Angora cats and Angora cats?

According to folklore, when a black cat walks around you in a circle, it typically means you will be cursed with bad luck. However, black cats are not really bad luck, nor are they dangerous! This is just a myth.

How much does a Burmese cat cost?

You'd be lucky to find a purebred Burmese kitten for sale under $300 -- a lower price than that is an instant red flag. You can check the classifieds in your local newspaper every week under cats, but it's best to look in a magazine like Cat Fancy for a listing of breeders. No matter where you find the add, always make sure you can visit the cattery and talk to the breeders, ask lots of questions, and examine the cats personally. Make a point of meeting the dame, and the sire if you can, since their temperaments are good indicators of how the kittens will grow up to be.

How can I find out if my cat is a male or female?

If your cat is intact (not spayed/neutered) and very young, it may be difficult to tell. However, if you feel around the genital area, below the anus, a male cat will have two lumps indicating testes. A female will not have testicles and instead had a vaginal opening that can be seen a short distance below the anus. In an older intact cat the testicles will be more pronounced and easy to see. A female's vagina will also be darker and more pronounced.

In an altered cat, a male will not have testicles, but will also lack a vagina. A spayed female cat will still have a vagina.

If you are still confused on how to tell the gender of your cat, I'm sure if you ask a breeder or veterinarian they will be able to quickly tell.

Here's also a link with more detail (and pictures) to help you determine the sex of your cat. http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/ClientED/kittengender.aspx
