Where do dragonflies go at night?
I spotted a very large, 3 to 4 inch dragonfly up in Northern California flying by my window one night around 10:00 P.M. It was flying slowly though - the temperature outside was about 50 degrees in mid July. Elevation was about 5,000 feet.
24 hours, but they lay eggs and they can hatch tons. so u probably would have a lot before they die. if you need to get rid of them try putting soapy water in a container and adding a drop of vinegar, that will drown them. or you can use sticky traps if they are in potting soil. :) hope that helped!!

No stupid. It will set your house on fire with it fire breath!
---
It may or may not be POSSIBLE to keep a dragonfly as a pet, but I would not advise it. First of all, dragonflies, in general, have a fairly short lifespan. Second dragonflies are quite hard to feed, eating live insects- usually on the wing.
However, raising dragonfly nymphs to adulthood is not only easy but quite fun.

Are dragonflies and damselflies related?
House flies are from the taxonomical order Diptera, meaning two-winged, whereas the four-winged dragonflies and damselflies are from the order Odanata, so the two would not be considered closely related. Also, the dragonflies are predators and have mouth parts adapted for preying on other insects. House flies are not able to do this.
There are many other differences despite the fact the two-winged flies are considered by some to have evolved from the four-winged variety.
Roaches have a pair of compound eyes, each made up of more than 2,000 individual hexagonal-shaped facets and each facet has its own optic nerve. Compound eyes do not provide sharp vision, but they do provide a wide field of vision, pretty well all around them in every direction, in which they can see any movement quite clearly. They are mainly nocturnal, and in semi-darkness they can see quite well.
What order does the dragonfly belong to?
order: odata
class: insecta
scientific name: chordate - chordata.
Their name is Bathroom Flies, Clogmia albipunctata. They are a tiny member of the moth family. I finally figured out how to get rid of them. My problem was that I hadn't run the water in the tub in that bathroom for a long time. Once I started running the tub every 3 or 4 days, they disappeared and I have not had a problem since. Good luck!
