Cold turkey (adjective or adverb cold-turkey) means suddenly, completely, without alteration or replacement. It most often refers to stopping addictive substances or behaviors, including cigarette smoking (as opposed to seeking psychological support, nicotine patches, or other aids).
Examples:
He stopped smoking cold-turkey, and became too jittery at work.
As opposed to going cold-turkey, some heroin addicts avoid withdrawal symptoms by taking other drugs.
Bill stopped gambling cold-turkey, but his brother still bets occasionally at the horse races.

Cold turkey, or an abrupt cessation of nicotine, is one way to stop smoking. Cold turkey can provide cost savings because paraphernalia and smoking cessation aids are not required.
How long does it take to feel better after only two 1mg tabs of clonazepam?
Honestly it depends on how long you have been on the medication. I was on Klonopin for 3 years and when I finally stopped taking it (cold turkey) I suffered from terrible shaking for about 3 days and NO sleep for at least a week. Its not so much painful, but an annoyance. You will feel a lot of anxiety, more so than before you started the medication and you will become depressed if you are not already, but there is a drug that is a miracle worker for detoxing off of any benzodiazepine and that is seroquil. Serioquil is typically given to people with bi-polar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, and sever depression. I would not reccomend long term use of it, but it will make getting off of klonopin a breeze! The first time I detoxed from klonopin I had no clue what I was in for, but my doctor put me back on it because of my sever panic disorder. I did not want to stay on it, and wanted to try something less strong like an anti-depressant that also treats anxiety. I was recommended to take seroqui to detox from the klonopin and I slept like a baby, it helped to take away the shakes I was experiecing ( also a good muscle relaxer can do that as well), and because seroquil treats anxiety it also helped me from going through the emotional roller coaster I went thorugh the first time around. So I would suggest getting a script for seroquil and take it for about a month maybe 3 weeks. You will be completely detoxed off of the klonopin. Also while you are taking the seroquil take melatonin ( 2 pills with dinner). It helps to build up the natural melatonin your body creates and that will mkae you be able to sleep on your own. It is not a prescription medication and you can buy it at any pharmacy, even young children take it so it is safe and non habit forming. Hope this helps, Dawn

You mean dopamine. Opiates cause your brain to release your dopamine supply which is what causes the euphoria.
A narcotic inventory record must be kept for?
A few reasons. But if the facility is being funded by the government, they want to make sure their money is going to where it should be. Inventory is mandatory for an audit. Also, if a family member wants to dispute if their loved one received their meds or not. However, not everyone is honest.

How does withdrawal help keep an addiction active?
Great question. Small box to answer it in.
Withdrawal will cause gross dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis - elevating stress hormones like cortisol that are known to play a role in triggering relapse.
Withdrawal serves as negative reinforcement to continue use. - The receptor system governing whatever drug you were abusing starts to resensitize itself - so when you use in the midst of this you generally get an intense feeling of relief & you're off & running - positive reinforcement.
Why people use a illegal drugs?
Because desire is greater than fear!
Many of the drugs they use produce effects that are pleasurable at first, but if they take them long enough, their bodies and minds then become dependent on them and they continue to use them, even when they no longer are getting the pleasure. They keep trying to attain the pleasure they felt the first few times, but it is no longer available even with higher and higher doses.
The addiction (from the illegal drugs that are addictive), and the repeated use of these strong drugs, cause them to lose insight and to be no longer able to see that the risks are outweighing the initially perceived benefits. At the "point of no return," which in some people is very soon after beginning the use, depending on the drug, the goal at that point is merely to avoid the unpleasant and painful effects of going without the drug.
Is it better to leave a drug addict in jail?
I don't know, why would you say that. I would suggest a rehab and not leaving a person in jail, just because he/she is an addict. I'm aware that sometimes is hard for us, to keep on fighting but I don't think that the jail is the answer.
What would you fail for when taking a Watson 933 round white pill?
You would fail the test for Opiates, because that pill is a generic Hydrocodone (it has many different name brands: Lortab, Vicodin) First I advise you don't take any pills that are not prescribed to you, and you definitely shouldn't be taking any pill that you don't know what it even is. If you still insist and don't know for certain what the pill is go online and go to Drugs.com, which will tell you what it is and the precautions, side effects, and other drug interactions. Be smart and stay alive!
it's actually more like heroin but it can work in the same way as speed does.
