How long does it take to get the tongue pierced?

Swelling goes down in two weeks, the piercing has a light heal by six weeks and a full heal by one year. Any time under a year the piercing can react to various health issues, getting sick or catching a cold for example. But no professional body piercer will consider a piercing seasoned until it's a year old.

The tongue is actually the fastest healing of all piercings due to the nature of the organ. The pain and swelling should stop within two weeks max, and the tongue should accept the jewelry and heal itself within two to three months. Other piercings may take up to a year to heal completely, but this is not the case with the tongue as it is cartilage-free and is a solid muscle therefore healing more quickly than connective tissue.

The tongue is two muscle complexes joined in the center by connective tissue and still requires an appropriate time to heal and season. 6~8 weeks for a light heal but is considered seasoned after a one year period. Based on over 17 years of providing professional piercing services in a licensed piercing facility.

The swelling should go down in a bout a week. Maybe longer if you try to eat or just play with it a lot. You shouldn't change it till the swelling has completely gone down which may take anywhere from 1-3 months.

Tongue piercings take 6 to 8 weeks to get a light heal, but the tongue is far from healed in that time, it can take another 2 months for the tongue to heal completely if not more depending on the level of your health.

A tongue piercing without complications can fully heal in four weeks. With complications, it may never heal and might have to be surgically closed. Every body piercing can result in sepsis and even death.
6 to 8 weeks for a light heal however it will take 6 months for the body to season and toughen the piercing to the point it can be removed for short periods of time (hour or two max) under the first year.

Can you pierce your eyebrow with a 22-23 gauge needle for a 18gauage hoopring?

I wouldn't recommend it. 22 gauge is smaller than 18. The smaller the number, the larger the ring/needle. If you use an 18 gauge needle and then put a threaded 18 gauge ring in, you are likely to have more pain. I would use a 16 gauge needle and then put the 18 gauge ring. The threads won't tear the new flesh, and you're less likely to chicken out because it hurts. Remember to push the needle through with the jewelry, because if you take the needle out, you'll lose the hole before the jewelry goes through. But then again, you really ought to go to a professional.

How to reduce pain while plucking your eyebrows?

I find that it doesnt hurt as much if you pluck them right after you get out of the shower. yeah, like the comment above me, wet your eye brows with water or you could even put lotion over your eye brows, then pluck them. itll make it less painful because the hair will be softer. Holding an ice cube on the area for a few minutes will numb it. But I say just be quick about it and get it over with. (Then again, I have pretty sparse eyebrows.) They sell a "numbing gel" at Sally Beauty Supply stores. Put a little of that on your brows, wait till it kicks in and tweeze your brows. I quit tweezing mine; now I get them waxed. It's over with so quickly you don't need to worry about numbing them.

No, its always best to pluck (with tweezers) or wax them. You can go to your local boots/superdrug and find a eyebrow kit there. If you are considering shaving them, use a smaller razor, like a bikini one. Hope it goes well! And make sure you don't do it infront of a zoomed in mirror.

Can you hit a vein when piercing your lip?

Yes you can hit a vein. Listen you don't know what to look for nor do you know what you are doing. The lips and area around the eyes are loaded with fine vessels and veins. Please leave piercing to trained experienced professional body piercers.

The reasons you should not attempt to pierce your self should be obvious, but for those who think it's a "DIY" project, here's some food for thought.

Infection and contraction of MRSA, HIV, Meningitis, Hepatitis and Tetanus are all very serious health issues, MRSA is an antibiotic resistant bacteria that can in most cases land the unlucky individual in the hospital (and has been responsible for serious deformities and deaths). These infections has been caused by using unsterilized equipment and materials. Sterilization is not achieved by pouring alcohol over needles and jewellery, or burning these items over a fire or exposed flame. Microorganisms live in the fine fissures and cracks in needles and jewellery and only the high temperature and pressure of a steam Autoclave can render these and many other bacteria harmless.

The above reasons alone should be enough to sway anyone from thinking they can do it themselves. Professional body piercers have years of hands on training and education to enable them to make any piercing "look simple", when in fact they are considering dozens of things when they lay out a piercing and actually do it. So consider your lack of knowledge, training and skills before you attempt to do any self piercing, once you pierce it, it's damaged tissue. This makes it even more difficult for a professional piercer to leave you with a great looking piercing when the area we have to work with is damaged by self inflicted attempts.

How grow back your eyebrows after plucking or getting them done?

You just have to not pluck them more. Lanolin may help. When I was a teen my parents had a gas stove that required it to be lit with a match. I was doing this one day when it blew up in my face. All of my eyelashes and eyebrows were blown off. I used lanolin to help promote growth. It may work for you.
