Can a pregnancy test show positive even if you're not pregnant?
This is pretty rare.. a positive test indicates that HCG was found in your urine. .here are reasons for HCG to be in your urine... 1) Pregnancy 2) you've recently taken a shot of HCG for infertility treatments 3) you have a tumor that is producing HCG 4) heterophilic antibodies http://www.osti.gov/energycitations/product.biblio.jsp?osti_id=6437207 5) Chemical Pregnancy A chemical pregnancy is basically an early miscarriage. Research has shown that half of all first pregnancies end in miscarriage. Due to the high sensitivity of home pregnancy tests, many women catch early pregnancies but end up going on to have their periods due to a chemical pregnancy. 6) You read the pregnancy test after the time the instructions alloted..on some tests a line that looks positive will show up later, but it's not a true positive. most of the time the answer is Pregnancy ~pawsalmighty

Unfortunately there is no clear or accurate way to tell which person (yourself or your friend) is pregnant.
A pregnancy test may only be used once. You and your friend need to purchase 2 separate pregnancy tests and use one each. Read the instructions prior to this, and you will find out if you're pregnant.
If the test turns positive, then you must make a appointment with your doctor to confirm the pregnancy.
any pregnancy test that shows up positive whether you have had a negetive or not means you are indeed pregnant, once you have a positive that's all there is to it.
Hi, It is possible yes.
Can a tampon alter urine pregnancy test result?
Tampons do not alter the accuracy of a pregnancy test. The test detects a chemical in urine that isn't changed by tampon use.
Can a fertility test detect the pregnancy hormone hCG?

Can certain illnesses give you a positive pregnancy test result if you aren't pregnant?
I am assuming you are referring to a urine pregnancy test which tests for Beta hCG. There are also blood tests, which are more specific, for pregnancy. The urine beta hCG test may be positive for other reasons than pregnancy. Certain cancers of the testicles and the ovary are diseases that can provide a positive pregnancy test. Also, a lot of blood or protein in the urine can give a false positive on a pregnancy test. There are also some medications that have been reported to cause false positives such as some anti-convulsants and anti-parkinson medications. Overall, though, the urine pregnancy test is very accurate. Any female who tests positive on a urine pregnancy test should arrange for an appointment to see a physician for follow-up.
What if a girl don't get her period but the pregency test comes back negative?

The 2 blood tests are compared to see if the levels are rising. If your levels are rising you are pregnant.
If you are concerned, an ultrasound test will confirm the emptiness of the uterus. == Yes, it is possible to have tissue left in your uterus after a miscarriage, this is called retained placenta. You really need to have a doctor confirm this, as a retained placenta could cause death, through hemorraghing or infection.
First off, you shouldn't take the pregnancy test until at least a week after your missed period. If it is negative, wait a week in between each test thereafter. If your in your 2nd month without a period, you should get a blood test at the doctors office to see for sure, it is the most accurate way to tell.

This is something you should discuss with your doctor.
Can you be pregnant if you are a month late with 2 negative pregnancy tests?
No. But you can go to the doctor and get a blood test done. They are more accurate than the home tests. Good luck:) You COULD be pregnant if you are late but it is unlikely. Wait a couple days and if you are more than a month late go to your doctor for a blood test. If you are not pregnant you can find out if anything else is wrong. Hi, Not all missed periods are pregnancy related, but it is possible yes. You need to see your doctor for a blood test.

Can slimming pills give you a false positive pregnancy test?

Does drinking any kind of liquid before taking a pregnancy test give false negatives?
Pregnancy tests work by detecting human chorionic gonadotropin in the urine. Anything that serves to dilute the urine will reduce the concentration of HCG, and could potentially cause a false positive.
That said, the tests are pretty sensitive; as long as you follow the instructions, it should work.
There is only one thing to do if you have one positive and one negative pregnant test. You should go to the doctor and get the pregnancy confirmed.
