What is time out called for in field hockey?
The most common reason for timeout being called is for an injury. This allows the team staff time to get on the field and either treat or remove the injured, without disadvantaging either team.
Time is usually called if the umpire is awarding a personal penalty (i.e. a warning or penalty card), so that they will not lose attention to the game and can make the message clear to others. It may not be necessary if a penalty corner or stroke is awarded at the same time.
A timeout can be called in some games and leagues if the ball is "lost", e.g. by being hit or flicked over a fence, or going into a drain, while it is fetched or replaced.
Timeout is automatically called at the award of a penalty stroke, and is restarted when play restarts.
Some competitions, such as the Euro Hockey League and a few North American divisions, allow a timeout to be called by the teams themselves, analogous to basketball or American football, at certain times in the process of play.

Why are lighter sticks better for indoor hockey?
Because the "field" is smaller and hitting is not as important in indoor hockey, a lighter stick allows a player more control and is easier to use than a heavy stick without sacrificing any major power from a hit (a push or sweep is often more effective and more used).
Both men and women, boy and girls, play it all around the world.
What do you wear in field hockey?
Players are required to wear a uniform; This consists of a shirt or jersey, shorts (or usually a skirt for girls & women), and socks. This is so players and umpires can tell the players of one team from the other. Additionally, you will need suitable footwear for the surface being used and it is common for associations to require a mouthguard and shinpads of all players. The captain also needs to wear an armband or other such object to show this. Most teams can get away with just matching shirts or jerseys, but at higher and especially international levels players on the same team must have virtually everything in common, their shoes must be of a darker colour (to contrast with the ball) and any extra personal gear must be in keeping with the team colours of the uniform part they are near e.g. at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, some players were reprimanded for having spandex shorts of a different colour visible beneath their uniform.
Floorball is a sport which is similar to ice hockey, although the court has plastic floor or parquett flooring. Hence, the players do not use skates. Furthermore, there are six player from the same team on the court at the same time, of which one goalkeeper. The goal is of course to score more time than the opponent team. The ball that is used is a white plastic ball with holes in it. An average match is 3 x 20 minutes and a court should be 40 x 20 meters.
Dragflicking is a very precise skill once mastered, and requires many hours of practise and coaching to get right. You may be able to pick up the technique from watching others do it, but describing all of its small variations in style here would take far too long. Basically, you run up from 5 or 6 steps behind the ball to get some momentum, collect it somewhere on the flat of your stick, and drive it forward, flicking when you reach the end of your stride.

What is the best field hockey stick?
I use TK field hockey sticks. My indoor is a TK Classic 2.2, and I really like it. For outdoor sticks, I would suggest a Grays, a Kookaburra, or a TK. Grays are great all-around sticks, Kookaburras are great looking and good drivers, and TKs are great offensive sticks. Hope this helps! :)

In international competition, the green card carries a two-minute suspension. Those 2 minutes only begin once the player's backside hits the chair, so you'll often see them sprinting off the pitch as the game can continue without them.
It has also been adopted in many domestic competitions at elite club and representative level, but is not in the rules of the game. Previously, the green card was a "warning".
