It costs nothing to use.Unlike other download methods, BitTorrent maximizes transfer speed by gathering pieces of the file you want and downloading these pieces simultaneously from people who already have them. Files are obtained from websites that contain hundreds of thousands of "torrent" files. The concept is peer to peer sharing of files(like online sharing of files).A person shares the file he has by using a torrent client (a software which downloads the original file you wanted say "mymovie.mp4") and you download the file using the same class of software.concepts include "seeding" and "leeching".

you start with downloading a .torrent file i.e say... "mymovie.torrent".This file is a small file which your client uses to know where the real download file i.e mymovie.mp4 is located and manages and downloads the original file for you.

the original file from a "seeder" (People who have the complete file) is broken into N pieces and distributed among the "leechers" (the one who are downloading the file) like us who are trying to download,without redundancy.so u download one 1 piece at a time to complete the file.once you complete your download (i.e you have the total N pieces of the file => you have the complete file) you become a "seeder" and you seed the file for other "leechers".this goes on and on....

It also relieves bandwidth and hardware use for the originator of the file. People who have only a partially completed version of the file in question are called "leechers." These people are also uploading whatever parts of a file they have at the same time as they are downloading the remainder. This process improves download rates for everyone involved, as the more seeders and leechers a user connects to, the more parts of a file they can download at once, which means the file will finish downloading faster. When a user is down downloading a file, they themselves become seeders for others to download from.

there is a standart edition which is free, and there is limewire pro which has more features and you pay for it.

You may download files with a Public release license, files you have paid for, your own files and files explicitally allowed to be downloaded.

To download any other files will be considered intellectual property piracy.

If you are talking about downloading single files like Zips, word doc's or other such files then purly open up a Text Box or Html box and type in the following (with your link in the right place).

Ensuring the MYFILE is the URL of the file and .MP3 is the format. On the internet urls maybe case Senitive.

Also note you don't need the 'target=_blank" but if your sending it to an image or mp4 then best to inculde it (the page will open in another window).

if you were to restart your computer while downloading or uploading a torrent it would stop temporarily while windows shut down but then resume after start-up. this will happen automatically as long as you have your torrent program set to start on windows start up (this is the default setting). otherwise file sharing will resume as soon as you run your torrent program.

It is a matter of personal taste.

I tested those two clients, along with 18 others, on 30 test torrents.

uTorrent and Vuze were among the few that performed excellently on all 30 torrents.

So, speed is not an issue between them.

uTorrent is small and easy on system resources, but has all the basic options needed by the average bittorrent user.

Vuze uses a good amount of RAM for a bittorrent client, but has every option that any user could ever want through its basic program and plugins.

Both have excellent support for their clients and both are constantly improving their client and bittorrent overall through their innovations.

imesh use to be a free file sharing program that focused on piracy. However today much like Napster it is not free nor involved in piracy anymore.
