When pregnant will your belly be hard below the belly button?

All women are different. But I'd guess the average women starts to show lower on her belly. When I first started to "show", it looked like I got a layer of fat over my tummy, hips and waist. Then I started to notice a small bulge very low on my stomach.....which just seems to expand all the time!! As your uterus grows upward, you'll notice higher on your abdomen becoming larger. What some refer to as a "bump" in early pregnancy usually shows under the belly button where the uterus is located. As time goes by and baby grows, you will show in various ways depending on how your baby grows. Some women carry high in late pregnancy, some low.

What does alcohol do to a fetus?

When you drink it goes to the fetus and causes damage to the baby. It can cause you to have a miscarraige, birth defects and even causes learning and behavior problems. Think of all of this before drinking again because your baby could come out stillborn.

Answer2: Whatever the mother eats or drinks the baby eats or drinks. I read an article that said "a particularly tragic out come of alcohol abuse is its effect on the unborn. "Alcohol is far worse for the developing fetus than any other abused drug," reports the International Herald Tribune. When a pregnant woman drinks, her developing child also drinks, and the toxic effect of alcohol is especially devastating at the formative stage of the fetus. Alcohol carries irreversible damage to is central nervous system. Neurons do not form properly. Cells are killed off. Other cells end up located in the wrong place. The result, fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), is the foremost cause of mental retardation in newborns. "You don't have to be an alcoholic to hurt your baby," remarks Professor Ann Streissguth, of the fetal alcohol and drug unit at the University of Washington, "you just have to be drinking enough and pregnant." The wisest course for women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy may be not to drink any alcohol at all. (taken from 10/08/05 Awake magazine on Jehovah's Witnesses official website)

I was having a 'normal' pregnancy and HCG levels rising until I started taking my prenatal vitamins. Then 4 days later, I suffered a miscarriage. I found out that my coworker also suffered a miscarriage after she had been on her prenatal vitamins for 5 days. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

Do you pee a lot when you first your pregnant?

== == == == The bigger the baby gets, the more it presses down on your bladder and the less space your bladder has to hold urine. That translates into a pit stop every 5 minutes.
no!!!!!!!
Yes, when you are pregnant the expanding uterus presses against the bladder, making the bladder smaller. As your pregnancy progresses, the baby will use your bladder as a punching bag or a pillow as it kicks and punches and sleeps. The added pressure of the baby against your bladder causes you to PEE more than normal as do urinary tract infections, STDs, and diabetes.
no!!!!!!!

How will you feel during your first trimester?

well when i first became pregnant i had normal signs of PMS. cramps and sore breast. then i missed my menstrual and the cramps worsened. this is due to the stretching of your reproductive organs. as the days went on my breast got more and more tender. At times i feel like i don't wanna eat, other times i cant eat enough. no morning sickness, a little nausea but nothing serious.

Is it possible not to be nauseated during the first trimester?

There is no "requirement" to feel sick in the first trimester. In fact, morning sickness for the majority of women calms by the 2nd month as the body adjusts to higher hormones. Other women experience morning sickness off and on throughout the pregnancy.

When does the 2nd trimester start?

Pregnancy actually begins two weeks before you conceive (when the egg fertilizes the sperm). You generally find out you are pregnant two weeks after you conceive, by this time you would be four weeks pregnant techinally alhthoug a lot of people may consider themselves to be only two weeks pregnant. The first trimester begins at the techinal week 1, before you are actually "pregnant" and have conceived. Weeks 1-12 are the weeks of your first trimester.

Is mild cramping normal in the first trimester of pregnancy?

Yes, for some women it can be.

I talked to a GYN nurse this morning and asked that same question. She said, yes, it is possible and not uncommon.

I spoke to my doctor regarding my initial question about cramping. I told him that I was still experiencing this minor cramping and he took me off work calling it a threatened miscarriage spell at this time. I would suggest noting where the cramps are felt, when, and for how long as in days. This will be a good indication for your docotor to decide what is best for you. In my case I am now taking progestrine suppositories to calm my uterus down. I am also off work for 6 weeks. I did also find out that I was pregnant with twins and one is not developing. In my opinion I believe that is the source for my cramping.

Yes, your uterus is expanding and stretching to make room for baby. I had horrible cramps with my pregnancy... but still i would seek a doctors opinion if you are pregnant and having bad cramps to be on the safe side.

Can you suck in your stomach if you're pregnant?

Yea, for the first couple of months you can. But what is the point of that, you're not even showing at this time.

When you do start to show, sorry, there's no sucking in to hide that sucker. You should be proud of your pregnant belly. If you're worried that other folks will think you're just fat, if you wear the right maternity clothes, it will be obvious that that's a pregnant belly you're carrying around. Wearing the right clothing, that fits you well, will improve your self-confidence and make you feel better about the weight.

You can definitely try to, but once the baby starts showing, usually around the 4th-5th month, it won't make much of a difference. You'll be able to feel the muscles clench and everything, but your stomach won't suck in much at all.

No, the baby is in the way. A pregnant stomach is hard.

What is Trimester?

When should you go for your first pregnancy doctors visit?

You should definitely go if your waters break. You should always go if you are worried at all. Otherwise, wait until your labor contractions are 5 minutes apart (form the beginning of one until the beginning of the next. The best thing to do is listen to your body, not your Mom, not your man, it's your body and only you can know how you feel.

What is the best sleep position?

It is best to lay on your left side, allowing increased blood-flow and nutrients to go to the placenta. Laying on your right side puts pressure on the Inferior Vena Cava. The major blood vein that carries De-oxygenated blood that eventually passes through the liver and the uterus. Do not sleep on your back if you can help it, since laying on your back while pregnant since the uterus will put pressure on the spine, back muscles, and major blood veins and intestines, which will reduce circulation for you, and the baby. It will most likely help, when laying on your left side, to prop a pillow under your belly to reduce the uncomfortable tugging sensation from the weight of the baby.

When will your stomach start to get hard when you are pregnant?

You will first be able to feel your uterus at around 15-16 weeks. Depending on your size now .. if you are thin or a little under weight it will take around 2 months. If you are average or a little over weight 3-4 months.
