I believe the 1988 Ford Thunderbird is OBD I , EEC IV
( there is probably an EEC TEST connection in the engine compartment )
You may have a restriction in the oil system, which will starve the engine of oil.
The plug for the computer is under the dash on the driver's side.
Disconnect the battery. Turn key to on, stick a long screwdriver through a hole in the bottom of the steering column and pull out the entire key cylinder
Your problem could be one of many different things, the major problems could be: 1. If the shaking is speed related... an imbalanced tire (wheel) could be the cause. 2. You could have a bent axle. 3. Your tire casing could be separating from the tread. 4. Your tire rim could be loose. 5. You might need new shocks. 6. Your steering linkage components could be loose or worn or broken. Good Luck... these are just a few of the things that can cause your symtom.
It's towards the bottom front of the engine, next to the oil filter.
While underneath your car, look for a small silver cylinder left of the oil filter. This is the fuel filter housing and it is connected to the fuel pump.
Try searching eBay for the airbag itself and I'm sure there is guides on replacing them on the net you will have to search.new answer any steering column specialist will be able to help you

The thermostat is on the intake where the hose comes from the radiator to the engine. Look at the top of the radiator and follow the hose that goes from the radiator to the engine. the hose fits on a fitting on the intake of the engine. If you remove that fitting, there's a thermostat inside.
there are seven bolts in the dash, but have to take 2 bolts out that hold the fuse box plus 4 nuts that hold the steering column up and you can pull back the dash enough to get at the heater box and there 3 or 4 bolts that hold it in. then you can see 4 bolts on top of the heater core housing that you can take out. oh don't for get to disconnect the a/c hoses on the firewall and the bracket there are 2 nuts be careful. i did my wife's heater core in her 87 t-bird last week. if need pictures i have them okay at robdean2@hotmail.com
in order to remove a heater core, you must take apart the whole dash. when i tookout my heater core in my cougar i had a hard time and i cut the dash and later on i founf out that you take it all apart. that's all i know. Dustin from pa
What helped me the most was this website, it practically walked me through every step. Be careful with the dash, mine was very fragile and i came close to cracking it many times in this process. good luck! http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/Heater_Core/heater_core_replacement.htm

You do not have to remove the strut. You have to take the pressure off the spring. To do this put a jack under the lower control arm and lift until the spring compress's then under the hood on top of the strut is a nut remove the nut and then carefully and slowly let the jack down , this will relieve the pressure on the strut and spring alowing you to remove the control arm safely. And always use jack stands to support the car.
It should be located in the oil pan. On my ranger its on the drivers side.
ABSTRACT: Nick and Karen are friends who live in New York. Nick loves Karen and he loves Karen's white '59 Thunderbird convertible. Karen doesn't realize how much Nick loves her. She sees other men, especially a psychology professor. When she is away with other men, Karen lets Nick take the Thunderbird from Kirby's garage where it is kept. After Nick and Karen visit their friends Stephanie and Sammy in Virginia, Stephanie calls Karen to announce an unwanted pregnancy. The news coincides with Nick's first date with Petra, a woman from his office, and he cuts the date short. On his way out of the bar on W. 10th St., Nick gets mugged. He has gotten mugged before. This time his arm is broken. Karen has taken off for Bermuda with her professor, leaving Nick to care for Stephanie. When Karen comes back, they take Stephanie to an abortion clinic. Karen tells Nick she sold the Thunderbird to a man she met in Bermuda who advised her to sell. Nick sees she's been taken. The Thunderbird was a classic. That afternoon he telephones Sammy in Virginia. Sammy tells him that New York is ruining him. Nick goes back to Stephanie and Karen in the apartment. Petra calls, but he has to tell her that she can't come over. Karen asks him if he thinks the man who bought the Thunderbird would sell it back if she offered him more than he paid.

Can you put a 1994 thunderbird motor in a 1996 thunderbird?
The ect should be inbetween the injectors on the drivers side of the motor, just below the intake where it says 2.3 efi kinda hard to see but with a flashlight you will see it, there is a wire plug connector that connects to the top of the sensor.
PITA!!! and that is all there is to that
If you are talking about the rear taillighs only the corner lights have bulbs pull back the inner trunk liner at the corner behind the light grab the grey or white plug and twist to remove the bulb the rear tailights on the trunk have no bulbs they are neon and if it is out the whole light assemble must be replaced
Could it be your starter won't work because... Ford didn't make a 1998 Thunderbird?
Mine was $3415. With power windows, power seats.
1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 ( unless the engine compartment decal shows different ) The distributor rotor turns counterclockwise
undo the trim plates around the top of the seat and all trim around it and it just pops out, no bolts screws or clips.
Oil in the antifreeze / antifreeze in the oil, loss of performance, overheating, thick smoke out of tailpipe.
