they generally eat aphids but will eat just about anything they can catch
How do you get rid of gnats and mosquitoes flying around an enclosed jacuzzi?
If you have plants around your jacuzzi then check the soil. Sometimes if the earth is moist it's a good breeding ground for both insects. If you find you see nothing, take a plant sprayer (with water) and give each plant a shot and if there are mosquitoes or gnats in the soil or on the plants they'll fly off and you'll know for sure the little rotters are there. Plants that have fruit on them (edible or not) will attract both insects as well as tropical plants or other plants that have a sweet smell to them. If this is so, then remove them and put them outside for decoration and away from the jacuzzi. You can also get "bug zappers" (at least two) to get rid of them. The zapping sounds when they kill the insects can be annoying, but it's better than having them fly around. I would also phone a pool company and ask them if there is anything you can do to the water to keep these insects away. Mosquitoes and gnats love humidity so you have the perfect set-up for them. Good luck Marcy

What is the classification of the aphid?
Insect is the classification of the aphid.
Specifically, an aphid is considered a sap-sucking insect. It is an insect because it has an outer skeleton, three body parts (head, thorax, abdomen), three jointed legs, compound eyes, and one pair of antennae. It is a sap-sucker because its piercing mouthparts break into its prey's insides in order to extract internal fluids.
Depends on where you live, but one candidate is the Eastern tent caterpillar which is found in North America. They can be extremely destructive due to their high numbers and can strip a tree bare in a matter of days. Their hairs can be very irritating to sensitive individuals.
Treatment for plums with worms in fruit?
the "worms" are most likely fruit fly larvae. for a tree in the garden get a 30-50 mesh net, for a farm plot look for mass trapping or SIT
What insects and other animals eat almonds in Spain?

The major predator of concern nevertheless tends to be spider mites, animals that are arachnids, not insects.
How is putting salt on a slug chemical energy?
[1] Water always moves from areas of lower salt concentration to areas of higher salt concentration. [2] In a way, it's like the chemical process of transpiration in a plant. Water's pulled up from the roots, in liquid form. It passes out, in vaporized form, through openings ka stomata in leaves. [3] It's the same with slugs. The liquid in their bodies crosses out into the higher salt concentrations in the air and on the dehydrating slug's body, as water vapor.
What is the season when aphids normally are present?
Summer is the season in which aphids normally are present.
Specifically, the insect in question (Aphidoideasuper-family) feeds upon the sap in foliage. Some herbaceous and woody plants leaf out in spring. But most leaf-bearing plants will be at their height in terms of lushness inside and out during the summer months.
Can you make bug spray with skin so soft for horses?
[1] The horse-friendliest sprays to control bugs tend to use one of two sets of active ingredients: the botanicals, and the oils. [2] The botanicals are made from plants. They're ka cypermethrin, permethrin, and pyrethrin. [3] The oils tend to be made from lemongrass, geranium, and citronellagrass. [4] Horses have sensitive skin. So there's no guarantee that even the preceding won't irritate. [5] So insecticidal soap, which can be bought as such, or made in the home from dish soap and water, is a third option.
Do mixed tulip flowers attract bees?
Yes, mixed tulip flowers attract bees so long as they are in the colors that the insects in question can see. Honeybees (Apis spp) see black, blue, green, purple and yellow. They will not be attracted to red or to tulips that are nectar- or pollen-poor.
Why do bees have honey stomachs?
A bee uses its honey stomach to add various enzymes to the nectar that it has collected from flowers and turn it into honey.
usually you can buy ant spray which kills these but that will kill your plants as well so maybe you shouldn't plant plants if this happens to you its a sign of bad-dirt-itis
In the field of text linguistics situationaity is on of the seven standards of textuality. Situationality is controlled by all the factors that render a text relevant to a communicative situation. Two main strategies are postulated here
1. Situation monitoring - when the text-producer steers the situation in order to provide an objective account of the situational model
2. Situation management - when the text-producer steers the situation towards the participant's goals
Can yellow jackets sting chickens?
My guess is yes...whether or not they can get through the thick feathers i am not sure!
The life stages clustered on food and host plants is the aphid colony. Leaves or needles, roots and stalks, stems or twigs number among the most common places where the colony is located. The colony shelters eggs, immature wingless and mature winged populations.
Why does pesticide kill insects even after the rain washes it off?
The residual effect of active ingredients is the reason why pesticides kill insects even after washed away by rainfall. Some insecticides have to be applied after natural or supplementary moisture since the insect killer's ingredients do not have long-lasting after- or side-effects. Other insecticides, such as Talstar, will remain effective for three months regardless of irrigation or precipitation.
Does a chili plant get pollinated by bees?
Yes, a chili plant [Capsicum spp] is pollinated by bees. But indoor gardeners needn't despair. The chili plant responds well to hand pollination.
When did blue jacket die the Indian?

"Incognito" or "incognita" may be Latin equivalents of "unknown."
What are some examples of good guy insects?
Beneficial garden insects include pollinators, predators, and parasitoids, or parasitic wasps.
Pollinators visit flowers to collect nectar and pollen to feed their young. In visiting many flowers, they transfer pollen from one flower to another, fertilizing seeds. Some garden vegetables can reproduce without pollinators--corn, for example, is wind pollinated--but in most fruiting plants, pollinators are either necessary for producing fruit, or fruit produced from cross-pollinated flowers is larger and has a longer shelf life than self-pollinated fruit. European honey bees are the most important agricultural pollinators, but orchard mason bees, bumble bees, and other native pollinators also pollinate vegetable crops.
Parasitoids are wasps that lay their eggs in the eggs--or bodies--of other insects. Most are tiny, gnat-sized insects with a wingspan of 1-2 mm, like trichogramma wasps, but some are larger. Larger parasitoids lay their eggs in caterpillars and the nymphs of beetle pests like squash beetles or spotted cucumber beetles. Parasitoids are critical insects in natural garden pest control because they control insect pests at low population densities, before they get out of hand. These tiny garden allies are the first insects to die when pesticides are applied. They're wiped out long before the pest insects.
Predators are the cleanup crew. Predator population increase in response to rising prey populations, but there's always a small lag before their numbers are high enough to control a severe infestation. Wasps, spiders, preying mantises, predatory flies like robber flies, syrphid flies, and beetles like lady bird beetles (ladybugs) and ground beetles are examples of predatory insects. Ladybugs, and especially their larvae, are voracious predators of aphids, scale insects, and mealybugs.
Pollinators increase crop yields and improve produce quality. In organic gardens, parasitoids and predators work together to keep pest insects in check. They don't wipe pests out--after all, pest insects are the food of predators, and the incubators of parasitoids--but they do keep their numbers low, below the threshold for economic damage. In a healthy organic garden, you'll see many different kinds of insects, just not too many of any single pest.
