Welcome to a long and ongoing battle.

You probably have Norway rats - burrowing, intelligent and prolific creatures that are every bit as good as we humans are at finding a home and food anywhere they can possibly exist. In fact they like to cozy up with us as we supply so much of they need to have to survive.

The strategy, whether you do it yourself or hire experts, comes down to:

Using traps or poison to immediately reduce the numbers present. Traps are obviously safer as poisons such as Warfarin (an anticoagulant) can harm pets.Removing food sources such as compost heaps, fallen fruits and vegetables, outdoor pet food bowlsFinding an destroying or eliminating nesting sites - lumber piles, burrows, areas under foundations

The work will also require the cooperation of your neighbours. If the rats are present in their gardens as well, the creatures will have no problem making sorties into your garden while living next door. Your efforts will have to be consistent for the entire area. Even when the problem seems to be resolved there will have to be an ongoing watch for new invasions which must be reacted to as soon as possible. New rats will come in once they realize the old population is gone and the territory is ready to be exploited.

Some jurisdictions such as Alberta in Canada have established a zero tolerance for rats. The sighting of a rat will bring down the wrath of the "Rat Patrol", a commando team of exterminators that will seek out the colonies and eradicate them (think of Dr. Who's Daleks). Other metropolitan areas have pretty much given up the battle and exist in an uneasy truce. Check locally to see what help is available.

Snails hide because they do not like being eaten by birds very much of course.

They also hide to keep their body temperature how they like it, during hot summer and cold winter nights and days.

Floribunda roses have large clusters of flowers,often with shortish stems-you usually cut them in a spray-& are very free flowering.They are originally bred from hybrid tea & Rosa multiflora.
Grandiflora roses are in-between Hybrid Tea and Floribunda's and have characteristics of both-sometimes they are not separated at all.The term Grandiflora is usually used in the USA to refer to roses like Queen Elizabeth,which is classified in other parts of the world as a Floribunda or a Hybrid Tea-depending on where you live!So the difference is very flexible.
In general,Floribundas have smaller blooms and shorter growth than Grandifloras,whose flowers are more typically 'Hybrid tea' in shape.

Animalia

BAD idea. You don't want to kill the very plants you want to keep that are infested with bugs, right? Weed killer is meant to kill PLANTS and Bug killer is meant to kill BUGS. There's a reason why their sold separately, and not mixed together!!

Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds above-ground and fungi below-ground are what feeds upon torch lily plants. Apparently there have been many attempts by snails over the years to find themselves alternate domiciles. The Sargasso sea snail has adapted itself to its marine environment over hundreds of thousands of years. When they tried to return to land they found that they had become addicted to sea salt so they were loathe to venture too far from the seaside and thereby fell prey to various predatory crustacean creatures and birds. Their more intrepid relatives made a bee-line for the nearest garden, finding it to be a safer place as they could hide behind tree trunks, secrete themselves under under fallen leaves, ooze their way into hollow logs etc.

Baboon spider, Button spiders (our black widow), Sac spiders, Rain spider, Violin spider (our recluse), six-eyed sand spider (sicarius-which is Latin for murderer), Darwin's black spider-on the list because it's webs can span 30 feet, white tailed spiders.
