What country speaks georgian?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Georgian
Georgian, which even has its own alphabet.

With a population of about 4.26 million, approximately 3.9 m of them speak Georgian, which is the official language of the country.

Other principle language groups within Georgia include:

  • Russian 9%
  • Armenian 7%
  • Azeri 6%
Of course, if someone has come from Georgia, they may well speak another language, perhaps one that is more common in the country where they now live. For example, singer Katie Melua is Georgian. Katie was born in Kutaisi, Georgia, and also lived five years in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. But now (Sept 2009) she lives in the UK, and she speaks Georgian, Russian and English.

What are the problem between Russia and Georgia?

User Avatar

Asked by Sim6222

Russia's invasion of Georgia is best understood in the context of the USSR era Soviet Union. In the time of the Soviet Union, Georgia was a mix of many ethnicities and cultures, and to this day maintains that diversity. An ethnic group known as the Ossesians, geographically in Georgia, but who consider themselves Russian ethnically, decided that they no longer wanted to be part of Georgia. Seeing this declaration as a potential to regain lost territory, Russia invaded Georgia with the intent of annexing as much territory as allowable by international appeasement, but with the guise of assisting their culturally similar and ethnically dependant brothers in a struggle for independance.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

it draws in people with its hot and mild climate. People like to get away from the cold (if that's where the live) and visit or move to GA. Sooo, it helps out GA's economy by having more people live here, or visit, and therefore needing to buy things (i.e. food, clothes, household appliances, a house, funiture, stay at a hotel ect.).

Is the country Georgia in Africa Europe or Asia?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes, Georgia is a European country. Georgia belongs to the Caucus States, a group of which are generally grouped with Europe. Georgia is truly a transcontinental country (between Europe and Asia), however, it is generally thought to be a part of Europe, much like Russia (in political terms, of course). You will find some resources and people who argue that Georgia is an Asian country as well, but the majority consider it to be Europe.
