Actually over 3,000 years ago in ancient Greece a house in Athens there was a report, a story of "the first ghost sighting". The Greek writer Tacitus writes of a man plagued by the spirit of a deceased man. Then, the sound became louder and it was clear that it was coming from within the property. When he looked up at the door in the entranceway, he had seen the apparition of a older man in chains, ratteling them. He beckoned hin to follow him, and then dissappeared in the yard. Athenodorus marked the spot, and returned in the morning with servants to dig in the spot. After a while, they came across the bony remains of what is assumed to be the ghostly man. They were given a proper burrial and since then, he has yet to appear and haunt the home.
