How many o2 sensors are on a 2003 GMC Denali XL?
My 2003 model has 4 sensors. Two are before the catalytic converters and
two more after the cat converters..
How do you replace the fuel pump in your 2002 GMC Denali XL?
I had to replace mine at 125,000 miles. Drain the fuel tank by disconnecting the rubber filler hose at the rear of the tank and use a siphon pump. Disconnect the vent hose back there also. I found it necessary to remove the spare tire to give me more room. I also jacked up the rear of the truck to allow the tank to fit under the Axel for removal. Support the tank and remove the two hanger straps. The bolts are on the drivers side. Pivot the rear of the tank down and disconnect the two electrical connectors to the pump. (study the new pump connector to avoid damaging the connectors since there is a little plastic lock tab hiding in the big one). Disconnect the three fuel line hoses at the top outside corner of the tank being careful not to loose the rubber o-rings. You can't see them so use a mirror to study what you're dealing with. You'll need two sizes of GM fuel line disconnect tools. You can get a full set of about 5 sizes for less than $15. The tank should now slide back and down. I removed the large heat shield on the drive shaft side of the tank to reduce weight and bulk. You can get new attachment rings from NAPA. The pump is removed by rotating the lock ring and lifting it up. Be careful of hammering on the ring and making sparks, you don't want to be remembered as the human spark plug! If you live in the rust belt like I do you should order a new lock ring. You also have to replace the filter to maintain the warranty on the new pump and I had to replace the fuel line from the front of the filter due to rust. Since GM doesn't stock them anymore and it would have been nearly $400 from them I had one made for $90 at a local shop. Clean the tank inside and reverse the procedural to finish the job. Good luck.

the instrument cluster still does not have the recall but you can fix the problem with a cheap part and a little time. you can get on eBay and order a stepper motor for the speedometer and disassemble the cluster then de-soldier the old stepper motor from the board and replace with the new one that you have ordered. I found the motor for $12 on eBay. but i am still curious about the vehicle speed sensor issue down by the transmission.
The cluster does have a recall on it. It only last until 80000 miles thou.
