No. There are lots of blue eyed dogs. Huskies, Australian Cattle Dogs & Danes, for example, often have blue eyes.

My Toy Poodle had one blue eye from 3 weeks of age, she is now 12 weeks old and diagnosed with glaucoma. Had eye removed yesterday, but was told that it could spread to left eye…..

Dogs are made to sleep a lot when they aren't doing anything. This comes from the wolf ancestry. Wolves go like crazy when they are hunting. Once they eat, they can sleep and laze around for several days before hunting, again. the golden, like most dogs, retains this ability to sleep, but also like most dogs, they need those bursts of intense release of energy by running hard, playing, and so on.

It is not unusual for a golden to sleep in the mid-morning after breakfast, be pretty active for awhile, then sleep a couple of hours in the afternoon. After supper, they may like to play vigourously, and then bed down and sleep another 7 or 8 hours, waking just in time for breakfast. Of course each dog has its own sleep timetable.

Golden Eagles are considered endangered for a number of reasons. The number of Golden Eagles in the world are dwindling.

No, they are entirely different breeds. Both are retrievers, as the Labrador Retriever.

The nickname for the Golden Retriever is "goldie" or a Golden. Both are breeds of dogs.

Within both breeds there is great variation: coat, size, head, jaws.

Labs tend to have short hair; the goldies have longer hair, and if they are inside animals, they have to be brushed more often, unless you just like hair balls in corners and such.

Labs tend to be overly hyper and exitable till they are five, and even after that they don't quite 'grow up' mentally. Retreivers tend to calm down at 3 years of age, so they are more recommended for little kids then the lab. and are among the most registered dogs in the US.

While is is not smart to ever leave a child (your definition and age limits) with a dog alone, generally, these both breeds are not inclined to chew promiscuously upon children. As with all dogs, don't bet the farm on it, however.

An EXTREMELY bad combination! A pit should not be crossed out with ANY OTHER BREED. And sadly they would look like pits, just perhaps a bit smaller.

of course NOT!!!!!!! goldens rock and u kno it. altho it does depend how u read the question. they r smelly if they never get a bath. they so get stinky pretty quick. my golden takes bath every like 5 months! he livs outside too! so ya they dont stink only if they dont take a bath!

Greyhouds are thought to have come from Egypt, where simmilar dogs, such as Salukis and Pharoh Hounds came/come from.

This is a short history lesson but it answers the question:

The golden retriever breed started out with Lord Tweedmouth cross-breeding a Tweed Water Spaniel (now extinct) and a blackwavy-coated retriever. The litter produced all black puppies except for one golden puppy. This puppy would become the base for all golden retrievers.

So... the first golden retriever was gold and all goldens have been since.

Males: 23-24" (58-61 cm.)

Females: 21.5-22.5" (55-57 cm.)

Most Golden Retrievers are not picky eaters - they'll eat just about anything you put in front of them. I would suggest starting with a reputable national brand (look for the AAFCO seal on the back of the bag) and see if yours will eat it. If so, you've found yourself a dog food for your Golden.

The average lifespan of a Golden Retriever is 11 1/2 yrs. However, there are rare cases reported and verified of individual Golden Retrievers who lived 19 and 20 years. A disproportionate percentage of Goldens die of cancer compared to many other breeds, particularly T-cell and B-cell lymphomas. However, if a Golden Retriever owner is aware of and applies recommendations to reduce the probability of cancer in their Golden, your chances of getting your Golden to 12 to 15 years old increases significantly. These recommendations include feeding good foods like Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Evo, etc plus a bit of certain organic vegetables, filtered or spring water, excercise and good general health habits, takes care not to over-vaccinate (google : Dr Ron Shultz or Dr Jean Dodds), and keep them away from household chemical products and recently chemically treated lawns. That said, I would never consider owning any breeder other than a Golden. I've had 4 Goldens so far after owning many other breeds overthe past 45 years. GR's are loving, intellegent, trainable, beautiful large breed dogs. There is nothing they can't learn and nothing they won't do for their family. I highly recommend this breed as long as you are willing and able to spend adequate time with him/her and provide at least a moderate amount of exercise and activities ( after all, they are sporting dogs at heart ). ....Dave Mernick, Warwick RI

8 to 12 pups is standard but our dog had 14 once, and her next breeding she had 3 . good luck if your golden is pregnant its hard but so much fun.

They are really good, but it depends on what kind of dog you are looking for. Golden Retrievers are bread hunting dogs. And they also make great pets, because they are really nice and friendly dogs to have. They get along great with anyone of any age. They are very intelligent and very friendly dogs.

4 months. I have a yellow lab and i heard they can have babies at 4 months of age. But if you want to spayed your dog in has to be between 4-6 months. Dogs usually go into heat the first time between 4-9 months of age. It is strongly recommended not to allow your puppy to become pregnent during this heat. It is the same as your 13 year old daughter/niece etc having a child.

10-14 years. They tend to reach the higher expectancy.

A golden retriever is an omnivore. They eat both meat and vegetables, usually in the form of quality dog food.

My best guess would be it's the luck of the genetic draw. Every breed has its

genetic spinoff's. That doesn't mean to say that there's something necessarily wrong with your pet. If you really feel concerned about it, ask your vet.

Will they stay blue? That's hard to say, but I'd venture a guess and say it's a definite maybe. I'm sure you've seen dogs with only one eye of a different color, so why not both. Question is, do you find it attractive? It's definitely a conversation starter. Depending on the shade of blue, they could get lighter or darker as the pet ages, but I'd bet they're pretty. ALSO If it has blue eyes, it's most likely that it's not a purebred Golden. Are you aware of it's complete genetic history? There may have been a blue eyed Husky in there somewhere. One thing's for sure, Goldens aren't "meant" to have blue eyes, it's not the breed standard. You wouldn't be able to show your dog in any official shows, but that's not really what matters. All that matters is that you love your dog!

Just about anything any dog would want! Dog food, chips, that leftover mashed potato side, chicken, etc. Just don't give them chocolate, grapes, pork, and other foods that can upset dog's digestion and severely injure them.
