Well, I've seen chocolate golden retrievers before. They aren't very common. Your vet may be able to tell you what breed that the puppy is. If not, I'm not sure. Just try to consult with your vet.

Sadly there is no good way of removing burrs from a Golden. You can try brushing them out, but that never worked for me, usually with my Golden I had to cut the burrs out with a pair of scissors. Even wetting the burr doesn't do much good as those things really cling to dogs with long hair.
