Because it is high quality. The name says it all. This is meant for cartographers,geographical studies, explorers and teachers. It also enables people to see places it is not practical to go, or too dangerous.I'm sure it is a valuable aid to vulcanologists and meteorologists as well. The other reason is not stressed in the advertising, although there is no reason to be ashamed of it. Google Earth is based on public domain data, which is free of charge because you have already paid for it once via NASA. Google Earth Pro is expensive because the data comes from commercial sources, who need to be reimbursed for the satellites and aeroplane flights that they pay for.

Oh God I am. Everytime I zoom out of the Earth my stomach turns and I have to switch it off straight away. I start shaking and everything. I dont know why though. So yeh your not alone.
